In my entire life, there was only one brief stint where I lived alone without a roommate in a ghetto apartment. 99% of the time I had roommates, sometimes multiple roommates.

I had a roommate once for 6 months and I hated it. I'd rather live in the hood alone

Your stinking generation brought all this pain on yourselves with your woke mentalities. And now that you are reaping what you’ve sown, you want to cry about it.
Only one crying here is OP because his company is too cheap to pay the going rate for labor.

I'm surprised you'd play patsy to that meme, Kork.

I did it for two. 4 of us rented a house with a pool and a pool table.

Decided I was better on my own, those frickers partied even too much for me. Too muck coke around the place.

Just like how they project their entitlement, Boomers project their political and business failures on those who have absolutely no power to affect anything.

If I'm coming across as a jerk, I apologize. This topic just hits really close to home right now because we move in a week and I'm hitting that stage of hanging out with a lot of my friends for what could be the last time in person.

Gen Z may be entitled, but your company is clueless about the cost of labor.

Nobody wants a full time job making $15/hour. Real businesses pay more than that right now. You can go work construction and make $25/hr with benefits, per diem and OT.

Exactly. That job sucks and that one bum could only handle doing it for so long. He was so miserable that the had to call in sick a bunch.

We've got 26 other people doing this job. They put in their time and move up. It's called work ethic.

Even when I was in high school or after and had shitty jobs, I always did my best. I showed up on time and only called in sick when I was, in fact, sick, which wasn't often. If I hated a job, I found another one, and gave 2 weeks notice. Not the norm nowadays

Ha I feel you there. I lived in NOLA East for a year and it was an interesting experience to say the least.

Where are these beaters? The used car market is insane too and good luck getting a loan on a 10k piece of shite. Just love the assumption that everyone here that has a legit beef is getting lumped into your category as insane spenders that are lazy.

The local dealership is attempting to buy my girlfriends Dodge Charger 2012 base model at 15k+

My 07 Tahoe with 250k miles just got hit parked on the street. It was $4k to get repaired and the insurance didn't total it. Insane.

Ate my food, always having to depend on someone else to cover their half of things. I've been married for a long time and that's fine but when I was single I preferred having my own place.

Are these people retarded?
Yes, they are. Gen Z is actually the first generation to have lower reading and math levels than the previous one.

is Gen Z out of reach?
They are on a lot of things (not all of course). I used to teach and it was frighteningly common for a student to tell me they were going to be a famous "YouTuber, Tiktoker, rapper....etc so I dont need to learn this."

The benefits probably add at least another $15k to the starting wage

No, they absolutely do not.

You need to learn the difference between wage and benefits. You are not offering enough for a single adult to live in a big city with any money to save.

Employee stock discounts - meaning the opportunity to PURCHASE stocks - are fricking worthless to people who are not being paid enough money to save anything.

Just in two months I saw more green fuzzy stuff in the fridge than in the yard.

The only way to fix that is by increasing supply. Boomers expect $4k/sq ft for their shite boxes, just like zoomers expect $100K for being a shite employee.

Good. That will give you time to look neighborhoods over, and sort out traffic patterns. It's a nice place to live. You chose well.

Good benefits, etc but $31K/yr does not go far in H-town. Try $45K and see who you can attract.
