Yeaaa. Kinda the same thing with the pond. Everybody had a license so might as well save the bullshite. Lots of people running around in green pants worried about flexing on the proletariat instead of catching the outlaws.

Guess who the outlaws tend to be when it comes to poaching?

Yep, I don't know if this guy is just BSing, but if you're on private property fishing in your own pond, they have no right to ask.

When has that ever stopped those who “protect and serve”

Generally the frickheads at the shady launches at 11pm with the spotlights and beer and rifles and NOT the people letting their kids catch bream in the pond after penning cows, but that's just my guess.

I might be mistaken here, but I thought in louisiana you needed a license to cast a line in a fish tank the way the law is written?

If the pond is on your property and not fed by a public waterway, then yes. Roaming game animals, such as deer, are legally considered to be property of the state, so the state can regulate their harvesting, even on private property.

You should google the definition of proletariat. Because I think it means something different than what you think it means.

They can’t come through our locked gate into our private property. It’s none of their fricking business what we hunt on our private land.

WLF can even place their cameras on your property to spy on your activities. Then charge you with violations they see.

They definitely seem to have a good bit of leeway with trespassing and privacy laws in general. I understand it's an impossible job to do without trespassing, but that line gets REAL fuzzy with them.

neither is illegal searches yet regular cops demand a right to search for no reason at all, just to go fishing for an excuse to harass you, then if you deny them permission to search, as is your right under the constitution, they use your refusal to give up your rights as justifiable cause to search since you are presumed to be hiding illegalities if you dont give up your rights. this is how every traffic stop ever made goes cop- can i search your car sir you - no cop- well saying no tells me you are hiding something cop- so now i have reasonable cause to think you are breaking the law, so now i have the right to search

Two things :
The officer must have had probable cause for the stop in the first place. Technically he can take you to jail for any criminal violation, even traffic. If that happened, your vehicle would be subject to an inventory search, and any illegal findings would stand.

OR

If an officer insists that you remain in the vehicle ( most do- stupid ), then he can search an area that is within your immediate reach for officer safety, and exception to the warrant. Any illegal findings would stand. This is mostly why most of them insist you remain in the vehicle. This is a bad move in my opinion. I made them get out & walk to the rear, but Not the passenger.

Louisiana state code describes navigable waterways as property of the state. When is why they can enforce fishing laws in private ponds.

A frickin pond in a pasture is not a navigable water.

The stupid shite people say sometimes never ceases to amaze me.

They also don't enforce fishing laws in private ponds...because they don't pertain to private ponds...

The reason they go after poor or working class (proletariat) is because that's who the poachers are. It's not Tucker Carlson or Elon Musk. It's Proletariat Billy and his midnight buddies.

Some of y’all are splitting hairs with hunting and fishing….

Fishing in a private pond on your own property does not require a license.. However, hunting game requires a license… Especially game birds…

frick game wardens

Harass me while I’m breaking no laws and acting all buddy buddy as they try and find some bull shite to charge or ticket me with. Not sure why we allow this as Americans.

They’re worse than cops. At least they have to make up a reason to pull you over

They stop anybody and ask for licenses etc

They stop anybody that is engaging in the recreational activity of hunting/fishing.

Outside of that they have to abide by the same rules as a regular cop.

Now, an argument can be made that you don’t need a license but that’s a different topic.
