She liked balls, too.

Just checked and there is a chapter in town. May have to join myself. They actually came to my kids school and did a cannon / rifle demo dressed in full garb with a lesson on the different flags. Very good history lesson for the kids. Public school no less just another reason I love living in MIssissippi.

I wonder what they think about their winning record being ended by a loser like you?

No, but my father is and grandfather was and my grandmother was a member of Daughters of Confederacy and American Revolution. My grandparents both quit because of how ridiculously racist the people were, but my father remains because he is ridiculously racist. We are direct descendants of Alexander Stephens the VP of the Confederacy and also served a short stint as Gov. Of Georgia during reconstruction before his death...and he also was a racist piece of shite. He delivered the Cornerstone of the Confederacy speech at the beginning of the Civil War proclaiming
quote:

Our new government['s] foundations are laid, its cornerstone rests, upon the great truth that the negro is not equal to the white man."
I also attended some gatherings and witnessed first hand...if you are a racist piece of shite, then it is the right organization for you.

I doubt that you would have been man enough to do the same. I respect soldiers on both sides by the way. Sorry I can not say that about some of their decendants.

Member of the SCV and MOS&B.

Membership is through my 2x great grandfather who was a 1st Lt. and actually was in command of his company during the Battle of Atlanta.

I also qualify for SCV membership through two or three other ancestors, one who was in an artillery battery that saw action at Chickamauga, and others who were in Virginia infantry units.

My ancestor who was the artillery man had three brothers who were in Cobb's Legion Cavalry and ride with Wade Hampton and JEB Stuart, including the famous ride around McClellan.

I can tell from your tone, you are a true badass.

If only the South had you, they would have assuredly won.

I could join both sons of the confederacy and sons of the American Revolution.

I probably should. Hell we’ve been here since the mid 1600s.

You are a liar. I have been a member for over twenty years. Racial bigotry is not allowed at meetings or within the organization. I have been to chapter meetings in several states in urban and rural settings, and bigotry is not only frowned upon, it is met with hostility.

If you show up to a SCV meeting thinking its a Klan rally you will catch an arse beating. It is a society of historical preservation and pride. There is no desire to be associated with hatred.

People in the organization who are found to be in hate groups are expelled immediately. It is not tolerated.

You are full of shite.

Remember, claiming old relatives is like a pick your own adventure book.

Four or five generations back, for every former soldier you want to claim there are probably dozens of assholes you won’t want to.
