Is 101.5 temperature some type of threshold?

My daughter who just got back from class trip to Disneyworld Monday (where her roommate and several other kids got violently ill), just got really sick, fever chills, nausea, difficulty breathing and fever of 99 plus constantly, etc was just told she needed to stay in school unless and until her fever hits 101.5. Our family’s normal temperature is 97.2, (the 98.4 is a bad statistic number btw and not the average human temp but for another day )
I think she just has the regular flu or another flu like virus, but WTF? Did I miss some CDC or public health announcement about 101.5 being the magic number? If she makes everyone else sick I am laying all this at administrations feet.

No one said to keep your daughter at school with a fever up to 101.5. You are lying.

Sounds like an STD to be honest.

Typical TD. Have all the symptoms of a global pandemic and take to TD for advice.

What kind of school tells a child they have to stay in school? If a kid has a cold but no fever, it still may be a reason to stay home.

If this is true...the difficulty breathing is the real concern there. She may have it

I have a hard time believing this. Our school policies have always been no school until fever is below 100° for 2 consecutive days without Tylenol or Advil.

That's pretty normal after a trip to Disney.
