I am not sure how Bezos gets paid, but I am sure its mostly stock which unrealized gains do not get taxed, would be terrible if they did.

The irony.
You’re going to have to use more words, and probably more syllables to make your point.
My speculation is you prefer the liberal narrative of conflating income taxes with wealth to make the case that there should be a wealth tax, possibly in addition to income taxes. If that’s the case, what are the wealthiest US taxpayers likely to do if there is suddenly a tax on wealth? Don’t read the liberal narrative to come up with your answer. Think for yourself.

I have 4 kids. Either he needs to be in jail, or I need to fire my accountant.
The tax credit is $2000 per child under 17. It is perfectly legitimate for him to use it. If you are not getting that child tax credits and have four children then you most definitely need to fire your accountant. That’s one of the most basic tax credits available. Probably THE most basic credit.
He also employees many, many people and his business generates massive tax revenue.

This is why Democrat’s are trying to tax the rich
They should take a page out of their playbook for middle class for the last 70 years. They are pretty good at taxing working class and even better at spending (republicans have become remarkably good at spending, too, since Bush II decided to begin the destruction of the party).

Interesting cartoon, just wondering the justification, is it simply "know your audience", sell what sells.

And Warren Buffett preaches to us about tax rates. Effing hypocrite.

Under current U.S. laws, gains from these assets are not considered taxable income until they are sold.
Exactly.
Wtf do they expect, to tax people on unrealized gains? I know the answer is "yes", but it's hard to imagine someone being that stupid.

I can think they make more than enough money but at the same time think our government wouldn't do a damn thing with those taxes other than waste it.

Meh. I have retainers with an accountant, a tax attorney and a trusts and estates attorney. Don't worry about me. But by all means, please continue to enjoy those who make the rules pissing on you and then convincing yourself that it's just raining.
It's weird how so many in this thread likely also post on the poli board and bitch about our government, but then turn around and act like nothing's wrong with our tax system. As if it's some static mandate chiseled on another one of Moses' tablets with an innate sense of fairness handed down by god.
Yeah, Bezos (and others like him, because he's just the stand-in here) is just your typical business man who is only playing by the rules just like your run of the mill small business owner.

But some small business owners don't play by the rules.
You really have no point here.

What a load of crap. Exactly who on the poli board "act like nothing's wrong with our tax system." Never seen it.

No one's saying the tax system is perfect. But what would you implement to stop a phenomenon like this article describes? Taxing unrealized gains? Wealth tax? None of those seem feasible, logical or productive.

I mean, if your implication is that he's not "playing by the rules" it would mean he's doing something illegal. Of course Amazon isn't going to function exactly the same as a mom and pop convenience store. But Bezos isn't doing anything illegal, to anyone's knowledge.
