Got bit by a pit bull mix separating the pit from my lab. Couldn’t think to do anything but dig my fingernail into the pits mouth in between its teeth to get it to release, but caught a stray in the process.

Bad owner who didn’t know better. My dog is fine. Didn’t even break my dogs skin. Went through my fingernail and bottom of my finger. Hurt like a mf

Dog was very chill before hand. Just rescued the day before and should have been leashed. Old man who rescued the dog was very distraught. Tried to calmly talk to him about training his dog and reading it’s body language and being around other dogs.

Just posted bc some of yall might get a kick out of me defending them and then getting bit. But doesn’t change my mind about them. Bad owners make bad dogs.

If he only has had it for a day and it’s already doing that he needs to just put it down or at least keep it locked up inside. He clearly doesn’t know how to handle it and it won’t be long before it kills another dog

You should have just shot it

Pit bulls should be eradicated from the face of the planet. They are a scourge upon the earth.

Trashy creatures, owned by trashy creatures.

Mental Rigidity: An obstinate inability to modify concepts, attitudes, or habits once developed, sometimes called being stubborn or mulish.

Belief Perseverance: The tendency to cling to initial beliefs even after new, contradictory information has been presented.

I’d kick that old man’s arse and shoot the pit in the head.

Substitute the word “lab” in those sentences with wife, mother, daughter, or paycheck then reevaluate.

Man’s best friend who would give his life for you and all you got is it didn’t break the skin?

My daughter is a K9 dog trainer and she would tell you the ONLY way to break that fight up is to choke out the pit-

well there is one other way ..........

Concur, the issue is likely 99% of dog owners aren't capable of handling a breed that needs intensive training and discipline. Couple that with the sheer strength, determination and aggression of a Pit and you have a recipe for disaster.

True regardless of the breed.

But Pits seem to go bad even when the owners are good.

My take is that man doesn't have any business with a dog like that and whoever "homed" that dog to him is criminally retarded.

You and I are on opposite ends of the pibble debate but I think we can both agree that an old man and rehomed pibble are a bad match.

next time finger his butt to make him release. Better than getting bit.

the first 12 years of my life I caught a scrape or puncture wound nearly daily.

Me and my brothers believed that a dogs licks cleaned wounds.

We always had a dog.

Maybe the Lord has a purpose for me and kept me around.

So in other words it takes a perfect owner or these dogs will be a public menace. Can't really say that about any other breed. But this is strictly an owner issue. Right?
