Yea sorry Confederate flag, okay. Swastikas are done. No excuse for it.

I saw a picture of a guy who painted A&A on his basement floor and carved (I think) the playing pieces.

Political Talk would 100% back this guy up. But he’s clearly doing it to he an arse, no other reason. Yeah he has free speech but that stuff is uncalled for.
Also, what the hell is a damnyankee doing with a Confederate Flag? Stop appropriating our culture.

The Confederate flag has come to represent racism in the same way that the rainbow has come to represent homosexuality.
You can tell me all about the history of light refractory, maybe your great uncle knew Rainbow Bright, I am probably being prejudice against your choices. However, everyone will assume you are gay if you are sporting the rainbows on the back of your F150.

People are mad saying it’s racist but I’ve asked and no one will tell me when it started meaning white power.
It started in 2017 on 4Chan... go figure. It was called operation O-KKK or something like that. They decided to flood the internet with the idea it now stands for white power, the three fingers make a W and the circle represents power.

Look, its his property, he can put whatever he wants out. But at least own up to who you are. A fricking swastika? People lost their life fighting to prevent the spread of what that symbol came to represent. But again, he has the right to put it up.
+1
The more people give him attention, the more justified he's going to feel in doing it.

That symbol was around for centuries before Adolf Hitler and his cronies adopted it for their regime.
It’s all about the interpretation of WHY someone is using/displaying it and who gets upset about it, which this day and age, seems to be everybody.

Ever since WWII it has become recognized primarily as a symbol of the Nazis. It’s not like this guy was around sporting it before that happened. I’m not going to blame somebody for thinking he’s racist because he put that up. Just like someone said, if you sport a rainbow flag people will think you’re gay, this is no different.
If he’s putting it up for other reasons then being a Nazi supporter, he can specify what that reason is then just saying “know your history”.
That being said, while he’s an attention whore and most likely racist, he can keep it up because it’s his property

Does free speech exist or not?
There is no such thing as hate speech. Speech is either completely free or it is not. Limitation and restriction on speech is simple infringement on the inalienable right to freedom of speech and expression.
So
Which is it?
Our society is on dangerous ground when we create arguments to strip ourselves of these rights.

Clearly the guy is just a Hindu expressing his faith.

The constitution protects an arse's right to express himself. It doesn't protect your right to not be offended. This guy should be able to fly whatever he damn well pleases on his property.

Black swastika on a white background tilted 45 degrees.
That narrows it down to the Nazi swastika.
If the guy wanted to start a history lesson he picked the wrong swastika to do it.
