Until this starts actually happening, ANY extortion fees I am forced to pay just because I can afford to pay them can frick off.

If you're over the age of 30 and drive a decent vehicle, and look like a normal tax paying citizen, no ones giving you an inspection sticker ticket.
The key is to not have one at all. If it’s expired, it’s easy to see. If it’s not there, there are possible explanations for its absence.
I’ve been pulled over four or five times in the last couple of years (a period of time where I’ve never had a sticker) and not gotten a ticket.

I'm at 18 months no sticker and haven't gotten a second look

I was being sarcastic. Im have not had a sticker on any of my 3 vehicles in years and have no plans to get one now.

The inspection sticker fees provide something like $22 million towards the State Police budget.
It’s not about safety, it’s about the money.
Correct. The mom and pop shop is just a ruse. It's 100% because the State Police gets too much money from inspection stickers and no other reason.

This bill failed, but the NIL state tax exemption will probably pass.
What a fricked up state. I'm not going to make fun of Louisiana anymore, it's more sad than it is funny.

Its atrocious. This SHOULD be one of the best states in the nation. We have the river. We have a very unique heritage.
Unfortunately corruption is so deeply entrenched here that it'll never be rooted out. The people are by and large terrible and the state is basically doomed to suck because of it.

This is true.

At least make it 2 years on getting a sticker. And I’ll still pay the yearly amount. It’s a PIA to chase odd stuff in my old truck.

Being stupid is a requirement to work in higher government in Louisiana.

Mine expired over two years ago. I don’t give a shite either way

Wow, so the vote was split 50/50 between Demons and Americans.

Wouldn’t you want all drivers to have insurance and working brake lights?
Posted on 4/29/25 at 9:29 pm to toosleaux
Was hoping this would pass, but had zero faith in the state to get it done. Par for the course.
