Not watching an hour long vid on Pine Bluff but I spent a few days there for work about 10 years ago and it was a dump. Seem to remember they had some kind of local effort to try to revitalize the downtown area. Guessing that never took off.

This guy (Peter Santenello) makes great videos. I appreciate his interviews with the people who live in unique towns and subculture. His series on life in Native American reservations was especially interesting.

I have no idea why they wasted one of the big casino resorts in that God forsaken place.

Believe it or not, just over a decade ago Pine Bluff had one of the best Aquaculture Research labs on the planet.

I’ve not watched it yet- I just posted the embed for the OP… no one likes clicking blind links.
I’ll probably give it a go tonight, I really enjoy these types of docs.

We don’t really have to go in depth in that. Everyone knows.

It started falling apart after 1970.
I used to go to the Pines Mall back in the 90s and I remember going to Garfields.

Did some work there about 12 years ago. The mall was already mostly deserted and “downtown” was a dump but I’ll be damned if UAPB didn’t have a damn nice football stadium. Looked brand new.
