Which modern day fad has the most potential to fizzle our the fastest making it a mere flash-in-the-pan?

I say escape room, and the one that will last the longest is craft brewery since people will always seek good beer.

Craft breweries will die out soon when they start to consolidate. The American beer industry has been down this road before

How about adding the proliferation of beards to that list

Indoor climbing is sustainable but seems already past its prime. Escape room will die off probably. Top Golf is like indoor climbing, will hold up but is routine by now. The other two are just variations on things that are already mainstays and they themselves are probably viable long term.

I think Top Golf.

Escape Rooms can evolve and people love puzzles and live adventures.

Craft Brewery is beer.

Cross Fit seems like a good thing and has lasted long enough as a workout fad to seem like it is holding.

I just looked it up and Crossfit has been around since 2000. It's obviously risen in popularity a lot since that time, but I don't know if I'd call 18 years a fad.

I'd say indoor rock climbing, followed by escape rooms. Although escape rooms are a lot of fun.

Not sure about that. I do think consolidation will occur and the growth will slow (if it hasn't), but a lot of what's happening is sustainable. They're the American version of pubs or beer gardens in many instances, often reusing industrial space to become community focal points.

I’d say Top Golf if only because the standards they have for building them are so high I doubt the demand keeps up.

The rock wall and the escape room strike me as the kind of things that don’t take a huge investment to do or maintain in comparison to a sprawling driving range.

Its not going to be pizza with beer.

Craft beer is not going away.
Should not be in same boat with activities.

If a game software company starts a chain of exclusive game rooms modeled after a game, they might last a generation. The big money would be a kids place. Something fun and interesting and educational for some age, say, 6 to 9.

At least one of the cruise ships I saw recently (Norwegian?) had a rock climbing wall on their main deck that appeared to be several stories.

None of these are fads. They are all established things/brands that aren't going anywhere anytime soon, although growth obviously won't stay like this forever.

Cross Fit has been going for about a decade. I don’t know if you’ll see a box on every corner like at one time, but I think it will keep a core following.

I certainly think they'll stay around but bought out, consolidated and the variations withdrawn. It's the unfortunate outcome of most of these type of industries

Escape Rooms will be the first.

The other three are fitness/sport related. Although, indoor climbing in areas without mountains might go away just like the Rooms.

Craft breweries; when the libs take over they won’t be able to survive.
