Kalpana Balan has six more teeth in her mouth than the average adult, earning her the record for the most teeth in a person's mouth (female), Guinness World Records announced.
Balan has four extra mandibular teeth on her lower jaw and two extra maxillary teeth on her upper jaw.
Her extra chompers, known as supernumerary teeth, started growing in when she was a teenager, and she initially was going to have them removed, but dentists told her she should wait until they finished coming in.
Balan said she decided not to remove the teeth, as they don't cause her any pain.
She said dentists have determined her record might increase in the future, as she has two more teeth that have yet to emerge.

My mother-in-law was missing about 8 teeth from birth. My wife was missing 6. My daughter was missing about a dozen and my son missing about the same.
Wife and mother-in-law were able to get bridges to fix it. My kids required bone grafts and implants to the tune of about $20K each. Of course, dental insurance doesn’t cover that.

Nothing unique or record breaking here. She has a few extra mandibular bicuspids. I know kids that had her beat by a long shot.

I just assume this is common with Indian women.

I think Freddy Mercury had the same thing. Extra teeth which also came with a larger than usual oral cavity which he claimed expanded his vocal abilities when singing.

A lot of dental conditions are genetic. I have talked about my 1st cousin the dentist before on here (he retired finally). He was at the top of the profession, had to tell his fellow dental professionals to stop voting for him as the ADA President so other worthy people could have a shot at leadership.
Well he and all 10 of our aunts/uncles and paternal grandparents and all us cousins and their kids have all got periodontal disease to the extent we get surgery to clean the roots. No treatment works and it’s all through the family tree going back to colonial pre-nation of states records.

There’s an Alabama joke in there somewhere.

Common amongst the progeny of repeated incest generations.

That is one chick who has never wondered where her mandibula was.

One of my uncles had 2 extra incisor teeth in his upper jaw. They were coming out over the top of the two he already had there and giving him problems so he had them taken out.
When he came home from the dentist he was a bit puffy but when I saw him 2 days later he was still puffy AND badly bruised since the roots of those teeth went up into his nasal cavity.
