I’d give the money to St. Jude if they sent me $1000 and so would my wife. My issues are unconstitutional wealth redistribution and incentivizing the breeding welfare class

They already have the w2 data for 2019. Maybe they'll start with that?

Highly doubt that covers anywhere near the majority of workers though?

Well, they have the 1099 data as well, assuming it was sent in by the employers as it should have been... so that covers many more...

True, but this kinda bothers me.

#1. I pay taxes. A bunch. So because I pay a bunch of taxes by making good money I’m not eligible to get a little back?
#2. I’m assuming they’ll base this off of last years income. A whole lot of people that did really well last year are likely not going to this year, and that is probably going to exclude a lot of people. In my experience an awful lot of small business owners are going to fall outside of this, and they’re hurting more than anyone.

Then as said above, don’t give it to anyone already on the government dole for not having a job. Set a floor of some small amount of TAXABLE income to qualify.

Don't give me a check because I make too much. Hook me up with a tax credit and payroll holiday.

This is going to be paid for with the taxpayer credit card which is already pretty maxed out so they should have limits. Honestly, not getting in on this action should be the least of your concerns. They'll eventually have to pay for this somehow and it probably won't be by raising taxes on the people they just had to give money to. Mo money, mo problems.

I assume they'll have to base it off of 2018, otherwise people would have to file 2019 taxes, which aren't due yet, just to get it. That would go against the primary goal of getting this money to as many potential voters as soon as possible so they'll know who to vote for in November.

Not sure if you realize it, but you have to through “cake” to the masses at times to make sure there is no riot and order is maintained. America is an EMP away from total anarchy. Our society is use to certain freedoms and limits of freedoms, which means different things to different people. If it’s jeopardized in any way, people will push those limits and order will immediately break down into anarchy.

People that didn't pay taxes will only get $600, $1200 if married.

At $75K, it's at $1200/2400 and after that it drops and stops at $99K.

Is that married filing joint?or are they basing it off last years individual w-2 or 1099?

Gross or net?

We make like $160k gross... we dont "need" it but would definitely put it back in the economy, locally, as intended

Hook up the low wage earners out of job with a check

Hook up the higher income people with a credit for tax time next year.

We all winning.

Bill said it's based off 2018 taxes. Nothing more or less. So if you did a joint return, you are screwed.

There will be a second check sent out in May if things don't pick up.

Your fricking party was arguing against closing the border the last 3 years. Even last week Pelosi was against blocking air travel.
