“Starting 1/6/2025 everyone is expected to be in the office during normal business hours Monday - Friday. We are cancelling our hybrid scheduling for increased engagement and productivity. Please consult your manager with any questions.”
Ready for the melt from the soys and dog park on a Monday people. Let the culling begin!!!!
I've yet to understand the people who are this against remote work and think the only way work can be done is when they are in the office.
On a side note I wonder if the OP drafted this email from home?

Employees leave company due to shitty middle manager. Story at 5.

Its just the people who don't like their home lives so need the office to escape and be social is all.
I've been remote for about 6 years now, I'm much more productive at home without my coworkers annoying me all day. I don't dread my job anymore and actually enjoy it while mixing breaks around my house instead of forced interactions with Karen and people I don't like.

Maybe the elite producers should lift up their team members. You know, be a leader. Hard to do in your lay-z-boy from home. Do you ever expect to get into the executive world without knowing how to be a leader and communicate with all types professionally? Just do you job and watch Netflix?
Speaking as someone who tends to get a fair amount of deference because of my ability to do all facets of my job, which includes training and administration, when I’m in the office, I have a very hard time getting my individual work done because someone is constantly knocking on my door. If I didn’t have the ability to work remotely part of the time, I would be far less productive and would get very, very burnt out.
But good luck and Godspeed

Good thing I'm useful enough to not care about your shite policy. 2 day a week gang.
I like seeing coworkers 2-3 times a week, but glad it's not every day.

We just had an announcement we're going from two days in the office to three soon...
I think the real question is whether it's necessary or not. Was productivity at your company dropping because you were remote? Because, if not, this feels vindictive.
I know, for my company, at least on my end (can't say what the case is for everyone), productivity didn't change at all and adding a third day across the board (versus during the more busy times) of the week feels unnecessary from both my perspective and the perspective of some of my colleagues
When you go remote/hybrid and employees realize that there is no change in productivity besides you getting more productive in terms of household chores when work isn't busy, then it's really hard to swallow when you're being asked to go into the office more for no real reason.
And yeah, when I do a cost/benefit analysis of my job versus changing jobs, the benefits of our flexible schedule decreasing does factor into that.

I get more work done workign remote than I do in office - the only things I socialize with are my wife, when she is also not working ( which is always when I am) or my cat.
the office is way more inefficient for me.
but then again I was remote full time about a year before the Pandemic, so my bosses know they have nothing to fear from me on it.

Canceling WFH or Hybrid schedules across the board is just weak leadership too chicken shite to discipline employee who abuse the system. so they screw everyone over.
No other explanation or reason. period.
Engineered out the problem.

How do you know the people working from home were productive at all?
Our WFH people in our office certainly aren't. But they're not productive when they're here anyway. They just like taking days off and not having to claim vacation or sick time.
Yeah, jump on the computer for 45 minutes like you did something and call it a day then go do personal errands or see a movie. Seen and heard it first hand.
You all think WFH people sit at home and work.. yeah right.
Downvote away. That will really bother me.....

Same, I started remote before the pandemic so the company was already set up that way.
I've since switched jobs but we have people that have worked for the company for over a decade that are all over the country so its pretty obvious it works for us. The people that live in town are hybrid, not sure if they were before Covid or not.

This should be a nice boon for companies who plan to stick to WFH.

Exactly. Why does anyone care about this? The idea that every company or every department should be WFH is silly. Allow the companies to choose.
WFH should absolutely be an earned benefit. Some industries its a given, certainly.
But I by no means believe it should be a given across the board. If you want to WFH, prove yourself and find or keep your job that allows it.
