There is another catholic 1yr old -12 grade, all girl catholic school? Ursuline?
I’m not sure they are really comparable.

Is that the school back behind/near Trader Joe’s? If so, I was told it is a good school. It came up in conversation bc I know someone looking at a home in the area. I’d never heard much of it.

Probably.

Was a great school until busing. I remember going to watch Newman play them in basketball at the Fortier gym in the early 80s when it was 100% black. Their chant was awesome...
"We are Onceha, Twocha, Threecha... Focha!!!

They usually send 2-3 boys to McCallie or Woodberry as well.

I used to take the Carrollton bus home in high school and the fortier boys were really bad in the late 90s lol
They were just being teenage boys, but it was intimidating.

It's a little further east off of Veterans from Trader Joe's, but I'm pretty sure St Angela is the school you're referring too. The pastor there is an absolutely amazing man who has done wonderful things to upgrade the school in the last 10 years since I've moved to the area.

Lol what? Some of y’all are way too stuck in the Louisiana mindset. I once had a buddy tell me that STM in Lafayette is better than any public school in the country. I still give him shite about that take.

My brother went to Trinity and one classmate went to Deerfield and another went to Choate.
ETA: I forgot that my brother went to Blue Ridge in Virginia straight out of Trinity.

i actually value the catholic education.
the only state where public schools really are better than private is texas and even that is debatable.

Will say having grown up there that the public schools in Shreveport suck and if I still lived there I would definitely send my kids to a private school.
However I raised my kids in North Bossier and we were very happy with the public schools. My grandkids are now in the North Bossier/Benton public schools and we are still very happy. Not sure I would spend the money on private schools in North Bossier or Benton.

My 2 girls both attend St. Alphonsus in Central. We live in Denham, but found it to be the best fit for our family. Love the school and the church and the overall community and experience. Oldest is headed to HS next year and will be attending St. Michael's

unless im sending my kid to public specifically for sports
This is wild to me. I definitely would not let high school sports determine where I'm sending my kid to school

i wouldnt send them to a terrible school just for that but some schools are much better at putting kids into college for certain sports
example...i would rather my kid go to catholic in Br over any other school if the goal was college baseball.....but if i was in North LA, would rather them go to WM over any of the privates.
but i mean if i had a football player and lived in Nola, i wouldnt pick Karr over Jesuit lol.
still has to be a good school

im not saying that...but im also not going to send my kid to a school where sports are absolutely terrible either if they can get a great education somewhere else that has great sports.

I guess it's probably because I have girls, but I'm much more worried about my kids' peers and the academics of their school, than I am anything to do with extracurriculars.
ETA: and also, avoiding the indoctrination of public school wackos.
