Typically, Christian schools are non-denominational. Catholic schools are called Catholic.
and there will never be a non denominational Christian school named Sacred Heart.

People are dumb.

I wouldn’t send my kids to public school anywhere in the country. Especially with all the indoctrination happening at schools and some of the transplanted teachers.

yea its funny, people will bitch about the government and indoctrination then turn around and send their kid to a government school to save money.

All three are similar, just depends on how many siblings of current students are in the incoming class

Our school was playing a tennis match against SHGC, and some of the AES kids were saying it was a Catholic school. One of the SHGC parents corrected them and said it was a Christian School

Yep, 100% why I would never send my kids to public school.

i get that but in south LA there is that choice pretty much everywhere.

might have to drive a little but you can find a decent catholic school with very rare exceptions.

when it comes to Catholic school in NOLA - it’s either you go where your mom/dad went, or your mom/dad hated where they went so you have to go somewhere else

Or where your mom/dad went is now closed so you get sent to a school with a similar crowd.

Legacies are not always the case these days with NOLA private/Catholic schools. 3 of my classmates at St. Martin's sent their kids to Newman (early-mid 2000's) because STM was experiencing some internal administration problems, and Newman provided a better overall experience and environment for their children. In reality, it all boils down to what school is the best fit for your children based on a host of factors.

No, but he replied (and quoted) to my post that was about Catholic schools

Then tried to include Catholic schools in his reply, but gave a non Catholic school example

Sorry, but I don’t see anyone from Jesuit sending their boy to holy cross or vice versa

Gotcha.

My poor sister has three kids. All went to Trinity and Newman. Those tuition totals are insane.

My sons elementary school tuition in new orleans is higher than most 4 year public universities in the SEC. It is pure lunacy.

What’s wrong with Holy Name & then a Catholic high school?

Or St Alphonsus

It’s all go big or go home type mentality. Cut throat, elitist and not very Catholic at all.

Sadly this is across the USA and not limited to LA.

Trinity is a much better school. If that's what you are after. Get what you pay for.

I had an acquaintance that had her daughter at McGehee and she complained about the cost constantly. She was Catholic, too, so I asked her why not put her at a Catholic school and she said there were too many rules.

Wut?? Are there not rules at McGehee??? lol who knows.

interesting, I’ve never heard that, and I’ve never known anyone to go there. So I’m not doubting you.

So in what way is it a better school? Where do those kids go to high school besides Newman?
