To be fair, you would only be up against regional folks. It would take most of the world more than 5 days to get to where you might be.
If you could hide on a train that continues to take you out of town after the one hour is up, most people wouldn't even be looking in the right area.
The biggest threat would be government US government agencies.

Your chance of survival is linked to the location you are at the time you find out and the clock starts running.
My best bet is to go house to house looking for a hide-a-key, let myself in and hide in the attic. The goal is to get have that attic be as far from where I started as possible, without using my car. Stealing a bike and bringing it in the attic with me wouldn't be a bad option, but that means I'm not too far from where I started.
I don't need supplies or anything. Going to Walmart takes about an hour, and it is only 5 days.

The probablem with hiding at a business is that you would be busted trying to break in.

Misdirection is huge in this. I'd have all my google searches and recent transactions pointing towards me leaving the state of LA. But in reality I'd be about 10 miles from my apartment

im buying some oxygen tanks, water, and some protein bars. gonna hide in one of those mausoleum wall tombs. ration the oxygen as needed.

Those boat warehouses would be very easy to sneak in undetected IMO. Near impossible to steal a boat out of it, but to sneak in? I think I could pull it off.

I mean you can try to steal a boat but by the time you grab food, throw it in a bag, get in your car, drive to a boat launch in open water it will probably be over an hour anyway, then people at the launch will see you fricking around. Even if you try to go to the woods someone will see your car.
If you literally cannot be seen by anyone, even someone who doesn't know who you are, then your best bet is to stay inside somewhere

This works better if you have 24 hours to hide and need to stay hidden for two weeks.

Pack duffel bag full of basic supplies and water. Ditch car by bridge, hitchhike to Whiskey Bay exit, go into Atchafalaya Basin and live for 5 days in the woods. There are tons of empty hunting camps all over, plus deer stands, and abundance of food and resources. Am I missing something here? Seems like 5 days would be easy.

Honestly, a pretty good idea. I'd strap a cell phone to a different Greyhound Bus though.
