They need to go look at that guy's youtube channel. He's a stand up comedian who talk more "white" than probably most posters on this board. Instead of saying, "hey, funny man. Nice video." It's, "hey this Asian guy is a racist by mocking other Asians and this poor reporter who cooks like shite."
Sad that people just can't enjoy anything or have a laugh anymore.

Most people I grew up with did it like that. It creates a consistent product with long grain rice that lasts longer in the fridge. DO NOT use the boil method with short grain rice as you will get basically a slurry paste. If done wrong, the long grain rice can get too mushy, but frankly, I like it a little mushy. Ensures zero chance of any crunchiness. I use a rice cooker now for laziness, but I used to use the boil method frequently
