Will he let you come over and cook a good meal for him and your mom?

Do they have any young grandchildren who come to visit? My Mom does, so I get her some new toys for the kids that she keeps at her house so they have things to play with. She's got space where we keep them and the kids love going through them and playing.

Talk your mom into giving him a bj. That’s all he wants.

No, it's not....I'm in my 60's and my kids know to buy me disposables.... liquor, wine or golf balls. They know what type I like of each. Easy and satisfying.

I'm nowhere near his age, but my kids asked me what I wanted. I told them to pick their favorite picture of themselves from 2024, frame it and give it to me. Maybe something like that with grandkids or gay milkmen?

Don't buy me anything. If I want it or need it, I'll go get it. Every now and then, my wife can identify something that I didn't know I wanted or needed.

Toothpaste
Soap
Deodorant
Air freshener
Paper towels
Shop towels
Q tips
Dishwasher pods
Paper plates

Buy them perishables. Stuff they use. Less they have to buy throughout the year.

Same situation..

Ended up ordering a quality 12 month "Fruit of the Month" subscription for them. They'll get a box of goodies and quality in-season fruit starting this week, then on the 15th throughout 2025

Sadly it’s true. Old people (me) don’t want gifts. When we want something we go buy it.. We like our days to be full of only what we want to do.. we earned it..

The only gifts we've bought my father for the last thirty-plus years have been white socks, white t-shirts, and underwear. It's all he'll accept. Anytime we've strayed from the norm, we'll find the gift still sealed in plastic someplace around the house, years later. You can't win with these old guys at the holidays.

Near 80. Never had shite as a kid and my parents never did either. They worked their asses off to provide basics. So I pretty much did the same.

I have any and everything I want or need. I don’t waste $ and my wife only spends $ on grandkids. I blow $ on grandkids as well, wanting them to have everything I didn’t.

I tell my kids every year, don’t buy me shite. Bring my grandkids to my house, let me spoil them, and I’m perfectly happy.

Quality time spent when the old man was still above ground was working on models together. He was like you in paint and detail so it was a good afternoon like fishing together except more talking and something you could keep as record of the time together.

Give him a gift card to Lowes/Home Depot.

Even if he says he doesnt want it, you know he will be there at 6AM for a project.

That or he's ghey (then he'll go to Tractor Supply instead)
