It’s was on A&E or one of those channels last week. Interesting show. The host of another show was interviewed and made a number of comments that there was zero way he’d ever get in that thing. Why do people care so much about the titanic? Get over it

The fact that it made multiple trips down and back is kind of remarkable. O
They found out what the fatigue life of the pressure vessel was. Too bad a few lives were cost to run that experiment.
The most basic engineering principles were ignored in the design of this vessel. If Rush wanted to be the only person on board that wouldn't be an issue. Taking paying customers on an experimental vessel without full knowledge of the risk is unconscionable.

I just remember them talking about basically having a bucket behind a shower curtain for a bathroom.
It was something like an 8 hour trip. And I know I'd have to take a monster shite sometime in that 8 hour window.
I'd feel bad for the other people on the sub.

I watched it because of the Newfoundland connection. Pretty interesting but nothing really new we didn’t already know. Mostly seemed like people just trying to blame him for everything
I probably walked past the spot they kept it in the winter 100 times when it was there and didn’t know it

Can we move on from these knuckleheads in a sardine can? It’s been beat to death.
Sure. It’s called scrolling. And the main controller is attached to your hand next to your index finger.
It works similar to the Bluetooth play station controller that was used on this particular sardine can.

Apparently it happened so fast their brains didn't have a chance to comprehend what was happening nor did they have a chance to feel pain.
That said, based on their actions they knew shite was starting to go sideways. So that anxiety was probably not fun.

The part with the Expedition Unknown guy was telling. He said not one thing worked and was shocked when he heard they were going to use it. Best use of the word “hubris” I ever heard.

With a Bluetooth connection?
Negatory ghostrider. Especially if that’s the least concerning system.
The carbon fiber would also be a no-go for me. I built pressure vessels for a living, so I do know how strong and reliable steel is.

5,525 lbs of force on your body. Can’t imagine but wouldn’t have the time to think about it would kill you so quick

When Viktor Veskovo elected not to go for a dive on it, everyone else would have been wise to decline.

It's hella good. I had a pretty good understanding of the incident and I still learned a lot. Very well done

In fairness, he is on camera numerous times stating it was an experimental craft and not without risk. Some people are willing to gamble.

I would have noped the frick out the moment he whipped out a Bluetooth PlayStation controller to drive the thing. No way I'm trusting some Bluetooth controller at the bottom of the ocean.
I would've noped the frick out before signing up

It ain't that cool to go see a wrecked ship at the bottom of the ocean. I'd be ready to take on substantially more risk going to space though, if I didn't have kids.

They definitely had warning. At least what Rush actually communicated to the rest of them.
It's really creepy watching that video of Rush's wife when they hear the pop, "what was that popping sound", and then like 10 seconds later they get the message "dropped 2 weights". They were dead before that message was delivered.

If anyone is interested in what happens during an instant decompression death youtube or google the infamous Byford Dolphin incident.

It would suck worse than you think.
If Stockton is piloting a sub with an original Nintendo controller he doesn’t bring toilet paper.
