A little love sexy slap on Moms arse is one of the great pleasures of marriage and family. It shows I still find her sexy and attractive. A little pat and a snuggle show the kids that their Mom and Dad are together and committed.
As far as arguing, why not. People disagree. My boys need to learn how to be respectful but express their opinion. They need to know that Mom is a strong woman who has no problem expressing her opinion to big ol me. They need to know that when they get married, they will have disagreements. They need to see how to navigate them. The perception that their marriage would be flawed because they dont always agree would be pretty alarming to them.

Commercial was stupid and had nothing to do with selling razors
This thread appears fixated on the word melt. I guess that passes as discourse on the OT.

Here's something you may have missed: the ad portrays some men/boys bullying and harassing others, and it portrays some acting like real men by standing up to them.
It’s an attack on basic masculinity lumping the majority of men in the “me too” offender category because they are masculine. Also boys will be boys doesn’t mean they are bullying rapey douche bags.

It protrays most men being shite bags..
and what that is supposed to be is toxically masculine men smugly grilling out up against the newly completed wall, while the starving caravan of hope weeps quietly on the other side, salivating at the aroma, so close to reaching the American dream, excellent use of symbolism

quote:The commercial literally opens with a black man contemplating his past behavior while looking in the mirror. There is a rap video with black men acting like assholes. Black man says "boys will be boys" at the cookout. Potential street fight between black kids.
maybe real men are getting a little defensive about the constant social attack regarding the evils of being a (white, heterosexual,)man?
Black black black black.
You're seeing what you want to see. The ad doesn't attack white men. It doesn't attack all men. It attacks men being assholes, and men being complicit while other men are assholes. If you aren't an a-hole, you aren't being attacked.

It protrays most men being shite bags...
The commercial is about changing shitbag behavior. Why wouldn't you expect there to be many shitbags featured in the ad?

ain't watching that shite again but does it show any white guys reflecting over their alleged less than socially acceptable behavior? no hope for crackers?

The basic advertising gial from Gillette is to sell razors that ad was directed at every man that buys razors.

It is just part of the larger coordinated effort to create cowed and docile men who are dependent on others. Individuality, critical thinking, Independence, self-reliance are all traits that are the antithesis of socialism

I'm not sure what you mean by "issue" but it certainly is thought provoking and provides interesting commentary about the motives behind those making such editorial choices.

When her and I argue, I always stop her and suggest we finish the argument after he goes to bed so he doesn't see us argue. I don't want him to see me argue with her and think that's how a man should always treat a woman.
Aint reading 20 pages of replies, but how are you arguing with your wife? You scream at her? Get in her face? If it's in a way that a man shouldn't be treating a woman, why the hell are you doing it?
I don't have kids, but once I do I'd probably want them to stick around to watch my wife and I argue every once in a while. Teach them how an argument should be dealt with. I ain't doing anything to her behind closed doors that I wouldn't do in front of someone else (ya know, except sexy time stuff). And you're a dickhead if you are.

It's not that they're just absent-mindedly accidentally portraying a vision that isn't exactly the norm. They are nakedly pushing an agenda in order to push stereotypes of some groups of people and refute others. The inaccuracy isn't the problem, it's the dishonesty rooted in hatred disguised as compassion that is the problem.
