I'm perfectly okay with Gillette's commercial

I've never been a fan of Gillette in the first place and have always just used the disposable Schick razors instead. Much cheaper and still gets the job done for me.
Having said that, their commercial is 100% spot on when it comes to the way I try to raise my son. I try to raise him to respect women, respect others, respect his mother, and not to fight. I try to act as a role model to him when he's around the wife and I by not slapping her on her butt in front of him, not raising my voice to her in front of him, and other things like that. When her and I argue, I always stop her and suggest we finish the argument after he goes to bed so he doesn't see us argue. I don't want him to see me argue with her and think that's how a man should always treat a woman.
I don't see anything wrong with that. At all. And in my opinion that's all the commercial is trying to say.
Again, never used Gillette and I'm not going to start just because of a commercial. Nor would I stop using a product based off of their commercial.
Any man who wants his son to grow up to be a decent human being who treats others with respect would probably agree with me on this stance, at its core.
Carry on.

It’s a huge overreaction by both Gillette and by people who hate it.

if there is one thing I want from my shaving cream, it’s to tell me how I should act.

The problem is, most men raise their kids that way, but Gillette makes it seem like we’re all a bunch of rapists.

The boys will be boys part is pretty gay though. Boys fight and get in the dirt. Don't act like we need to stop that. It's in their nature.
At the end of the day, they're a razor company. Shut up and sell razors. Don't give me a morality lesson.

I don't even use shaving cream. Soap in the shower FTW.

Nothing. Just another classic attention whore thread creation.

Well I didn't look at it that way but when you mention it that way, it does sort of offend me. They kinda are grouping all men into the rapist column.

I always slap my wife's arse in front of my sons. It shows them we have a happy marriage. Why hide it?

I get pissed over shite really easy, at the drop of a hat actually...but I didn't see anything wrong with the commercial. They weren't pushing for men to go piss in girls bathrooms, or boys to dress out in girls locker rooms, or help hide illegal mexicans, or resist arrest just cuz

My thoughts on the commercial: DGAF

Agreed but it's still important to teach them that although you should always try to avoid resorting to fighting, it's also important to defend yourself. Nothing wrong with boys horse-playing.

The last half of the commercial is fine.
The first half where they insinuate all men prior to #metoo are heathens is where they fricked up.
