Ruin Christmas? You are severely overestimating my importance. As for my family:. My parents live in town. I spend Easter, Thanksgiving, and their birthdays with them. I’ve had them over. We grill, drink, etc. My dad is lucky if she gives him a phone call on that day.

I’m driving 1.5 hrs on Christmas Eve to future sister in laws house and about 30 minutes on Christmas Day to my parents.

My fiancées dad lives in Utah and her mom in Montana so going to their houses is a hard no.

If I’m driving 5 hours to go somewhere, I’m damn sure not turning around and driving back the next day. There’s a reason right there…

If you act anything in real life like you do on here, your family is probably extremely greatful that you stay home.

I understand she wants the kids to open presents at home. Her kids aren’t infants anymore. They are from grades 3-5. I know packing up isn’t easy, but what’s wrong with driving back to your hometown after XMas so grandma and grandpa in their 70’s aren’t shamed into driving up the 4.5 hours as well?

I went to the aTm/LSU game and didn’t visit. I told them it was a day trip

I'm confused. Is this really a day trip?

Isn’t it fun to be guilted by family that moves hundreds of miles away and then expects you to come play national lampoons Christmas vacation?

Hey, sounds like fun (other than the result of the game), I just don't know if it's good ammunition for an argument about not wanting to visit family.
