This pretty much sums up the Syria War. No real winners, just suffering. ~14,000 children killed.

6 years ago, any of us could go visit Syria safely. Now, it is the world's personal Call of Duty map. It is just a pathetic failure of the world's leaders.

I don't know why any free human being would want to venture to that part of the world.

Asking for trouble.
F that entire area of the world.

Pre-war, if you loved history, there were enough ancient ruins there to tour to keep you busy for awhile.

This is a failure of every world leader over the past 15 years. Bush, Obama, Putin, Blair, Cameron, Merkel, Ban Ki-moon, etc. It should have never gotten to this point.

I don't like Bush at all but I'm curious how you can blame this on him?
US debt? Yup
Progressive policies that took away freedoms? Yup
Proliferation of ISIS by removing the leaders of Lybia, Egypt, and Syria and replacing them with terrorist groups? Nah that one falls squarely on the great Obama

Everyone says this, but no one offers a solution except "Obama, red-line, derp".

I fricking hate Obama, and not that I disagree, but what, specifically, do you propose that is or ever was realistic and feasible that wouldn't have escalated the situation well beyond Syria?

This situation is geopolitics at play at the expense of those too weak to resist. It's a cold-war era proxy war, and always has been.

ETA: thousands of kids like this have been dead in Syria for years, but now there's this pic so everyone pics their heads up from out of their asses and/or the Olympics to GAF about Syria or the Syrian people for 30 seconds.

Bring on the down votes.

You got that right.

Edit: All joking aside it is a shame.

It's sad but not our job. There's lots of injustice and pain in the world. Maybe Syrians need to man up and establish themselves a democracy instead of running for Germany.

How about not bankrolling ISIS, running guns to them from Libya, and conceding northern Iraq to them giving them the arsenal and central bank in Mosul.

If people would just not act like savages and treat humans with dignity and respect. None of this would be an issue.
