I didn't even notice your misspelling. Your argument contains no intellectual component. That is the point I was making.

I'm agnostic, not atheist but I’m not sure archaeology could prove “Christ is Lord,” because that isn’t really an archaeological proposition. Archaeology could absolutely change my mind about particular biblical claims. Find Noah’s Ark and demonstrate scientifically that it’s actually an ancient ship, and I’ll accept that an ancient ship behind the Noah story existed. Find compelling evidence for the Exodus, and I’ll revise my view of the Exodus accordingly. But establishing that an event happened is different from establishing its supernatural explanation. You could prove Jesus existed, was crucified, had followers who believed he rose from the dead, and even locate his tomb without thereby proving that God resurrected him or that he was God. This isn’t a knock on your beliefs or an attempt to say they aren’t true. It’s just pointing out a basic limitation: supernatural claims can’t be proven or disproven by evidence from the physically observable world alone. To establish a supernatural claim, you’d need evidence that actually demonstrates something supernatural occurred, not merely archaeological evidence that some surrounding historical detail was real.

Another good response. Thank you. What if I told you science (a high risk physician) told my wife and I we were going to have a child with Down syndrome, which would have been perfectly fine, but after multiple/additional hospital visits all of the scientific “markers” disappeared. To the absolute amazement of the physician. He couldn’t explain it and wanted to publish it in some medical literature that circulates in their field. That was a supernatural phenomenon that I personally witnessed. No scientific explanation given. The only thing I know was that it was divine intervention.

Or humans naturally settled by water which is why every old civilization or religion has flood lore.

That’s a fair statement. I can show where all other religions founders are buried.
WTF?

No you can't. Where did you learn this nonsense?

So what is it when your child does have down syndrome? Not divine? God didn't create the down syndrome kids?

Star Wars was real too.

I just love the arrogance of people who say things like this.
I'm guessing you won't be quite so arrogant/confident when you're on your death bed.

This is always such a ridiculous argument. How do you know Buddhism isn’t the right religion. Are you still going to be so confident about your choice on your death bed? What if you’re wrong?

A misdiagnosis, an abnormal screening result that later resolves, or even an extremely rare spontaneous biological event isn’t evidence of the supernatural. I’m perfectly willing to call what happened remarkable and understand why you personally interpret it as divine intervention. But “medicine didn’t have an explanation for what happened to us” and “therefore God intervened” are two separate claims. The second one still requires evidence that distinguishes divine intervention from misdiagnosis, biological variation, a rare natural process, or something medicine simply doesn’t yet understand.

No I didn’t. That was another poster.

Do you feel that way about all religions, or just Christianity? Just curious since you seem to have it all figured out.

I don’t subscribe to any religious belief, so to some extent, yes, I believe that they’re all stories that humans have made up to explain things that they cannot comprehend.

And I think there was a historical "Jesus" and many events that were written in the Bible did happen historically. None of those things prove the Bible is real.
If hieroglyphs contained similar details about an ancient Egyptian leader, historians would acclaim it as a historical marvel. Ironically, the same atheist "historians" opine that the Bible is fiction. There is no limit to the irony associated with such a position.

yes there are

No credible historian denies that Jesus was a real person

Tacitus and Josephus, neither of whom was Christian

Ok, I didn’t say anything about that though.

Those statements don’t do what the claim said they do though. I can find you Roman statements about Mithra. Does that mean that Mithra was a real person?

What historians 'would do if' is an assertion without evidence in order to invent a hypothetical double standard.

Come on, man. I know for a fact you can do better than this.

He absolutely did/does and that is why I said it in my post it would have been fine if my child had Down syndrome (I have an aunt with a condition). All I know is that after 3 ultrasounds, testing, and work ups all of the visible markers and scientific markers were gone.

Again, I’m just relaying a personal experience. That is all.

OK, how accurately did your Roman writers talk about mithra versus how accurately Josephus and Tacitus spoke about Christ

you're right a lot of people gave opinions about what was going on reported what was going on but separate the mithra comments and the Christ comment how were the other facts that these historians reported how accurate were they?

don't you believe someone who has proven themselves is telling you the truth more so than someone who just tells you things in your daily life
Like right now, do you trust more people who have proven themselves

stock market tips
restaurant recommendations

use that same discernment

btw I'm not trying to win an argument or convince you I'm right i'm just saying maybe look into it.

Just study the validity of the facts that support Christ and the life he lived in ancient times, and how the life he lived perfectly matched up with the Old Testament that predicted the Messiah, and how archaeological findings support the story

Like the book of Isaiah, which they have a nearly complete book, found studies, translated by thousands of "experts," not all Christian or Jewish
and the Bible, through translations, matches up with it , no corrections needed to be made
