So all Christians are supposed to take a Daily News story as absolute fact and if they question it, that makes them an atheist?

So you’re a doubting Thomas?

imagine believing this.

But i guess if you believe a mountain is shaped like a boat because there is a boat inside of it you arent doing a lot of critical thinking in the first place.

Also, wood takes millions of years to petrify naturally unless its in a mineral rich hot spring.

Noah’s ark is 100% real. The studies on site are proving the Bible was completely accurate in all the details. Length, 3 floors, in turkey at/near mount ararat. They even found the anchors.
Pretty crazy that Moses wasn’t even there, but was still given all the exact details by God and is being proven 4,300 years later.
There’s a reason why fossils of shells, fish, palm leaves in different continents are found on top of mountains.
God is real and the Bible is accurate again

Yikes. People who believe this nonsense get to vote.

the scientific method requires that the proposer of a thing must be the one burdened to prove the thing. You describe “proving a negative” which is impossible (as you surely know) If you were to say for example that apples cure cancer, it would be impossible for me to disprove that. But that is not my burden, it is yours to prove that they do

That’s a fair statement. I can show where all other religions founders are buried. I can’t show you where mine is buried because He is not there. There is historical texts that validate the existence of Jesus separate and apart from the Bible. I can’t look at the universe and tell you everything is just by coincidence perfectly aligned scientifically. To look at such wonder and have the intellectual dishonesty to say it is anything other than intelligent design makes no sense to me.

The proof to me is there is historical context, it is reliable, and taking the science approach to it, I can’t help but come to the conclusion that there is God, he designed it, you and I are here and have value, and because of that a creator did it and science can’t say how it happen(s)ed. You having the ability to type your reply to me is enough proof that God set all of this in motion for you and I to have a relationship with Him through his son Jesus.

Complete petrification typically occurs on geological timescales (millions of years).

But the more important question is: what evidence do you have that this is actually petrified wood? That’s something geologists can determine pretty easily by examining the structure.

So if this really is a 500-foot petrified wooden ship, there are obviously published geological studies demonstrating that. You can link those, right?

Yeah, all that time I wasted trying to master the Jedi mind trick would seem pretty silly in retrospect.

Nah man, Thomas doubted Jesus. I'm doubting the Daily Mail and any human source mentioned in that article. Last I checked none of them are Christ.

For those that think Christ is not Lord and think Biblical accounts are just fairy tails: what is, or is there, any archaeological find that would change your mind?

This is not a troll attempt just genuinely curious if there is anything that could change your belief.

Edited to add: I’m not saying this is Noah’s Ark…I’m asking generally, is there any archaeological find that would change your stance as an atheist or non-Christian.
I'm agnostic, not atheist but I’m not sure archaeology could prove “Christ is Lord,” because that isn’t really an archaeological proposition. Archaeology could absolutely change my mind about particular biblical claims. Find Noah’s Ark and demonstrate scientifically that it’s actually an ancient ship, and I’ll accept that an ancient ship behind the Noah story existed. Find compelling evidence for the Exodus, and I’ll revise my view of the Exodus accordingly.

But establishing that an event happened is different from establishing its supernatural explanation. You could prove Jesus existed, was crucified, had followers who believed he rose from the dead, and even locate his tomb without thereby proving that God resurrected him or that he was God.

This isn’t a knock on your beliefs or an attempt to say they aren’t true. It’s just pointing out a basic limitation: supernatural claims can’t be proven or disproven by evidence from the physically observable world alone. To establish a supernatural claim, you’d need evidence that actually demonstrates something supernatural occurred, not merely archaeological evidence that some surrounding historical detail was real.

Abstract
A natural rock structure near Dogubayazit, Turkey, has been misidentified as Noah's Ark. Microscopic studies of a supposed iron bracket show that it is derived from weathered volcanic minerals. Supposed metal-braced walls are natural concentrations of limonite and magnetite in steeply inclined sedimentary layers in the limbs of a doubly plunging syncline. Supposed fossilized gopherwood bark is crinkled metamorphosed peridotite. Fossiliferous limestone, interpreted as cross cutting the syncline, preclude the structure from being Noah's Ark because these supposed “Flood” deposits are younger than the “Ark.” Anchor stones at Kazan (Arzap) are derived from local andesite and not from Mesopotamia.

Thank you I corrected the spelling. In my view, it is intellectual dishonesty to look at creation, you, me, the cosmos, etc. and think/know this all exists outside of a creator. Science can’t, has not, and in my opinion will never prove how creation was created.

I’m not changing your mind through a message board. I understand that. Hope you are well.

Isn’t it a bit early to be having another Noah’s Ark pissing match? We had one just the other day.

The horseshoe crab is essentially unchanged from 400 million years ago. They've had enough time.
Time to what?

Apparently they didn’t need the last 400 million years to become well adapted to their niche. A mistake people keep making is treating evolution like it has a goal, a schedule, or some final form it’s trying to reach. It doesn’t. Evolution is driven by mutation, recombination, natural selection, genetic drift, and changes in the environment. When a population is already very well suited to a relatively stable niche, strong selection for major changes drops off.

So, have you read the archeological, Anthropological reports/studies that back this claim?

Or are you as a learned man who doesn't believe in fairy tales not taking the time to look into the science that supports it

One should never stop pursuing knowledge.

I in no way am making any of this up. Just following the physical evidence.
