Fact.
Agreed.
And I wouldn't rule out that it will be with OP.

Let's play guess the ex-fiancé's weight....
170?
She'll probably bust arse and be back to 125 once dumped.

Yeah, you guys are right. Speculation is much more fun.
That's all perfectly reasonable speculation as well.
I have no possible idea why you're so mad here.

Actually I think she does get to keep the ring. The ring is the payment for a contract to marry. He breached the contract by backing out, not her. If she backs out, she has to return it.
This is my recollection from class 7 years ago.

If you didn't kill her after a decade you should probably just keep her.

Do you plan on commenting anymore in your thread?

I've seen this happen so many times
Happened twice to one of my cousins. She's finally getting married next year, but she had boyfriends (both of 7+ years) break up with her because they "didn't want to be married" only to have them get married to other people within a couple years.

Its not a waste of time. How can experience be a waste? I'm sure they had some great times together. But those times have clearly past now.
I really don't understand this kind of mentality. Suggesting that the past is a waste indicates that you don't know how to live in the present.

Holy shite, a fricking decade?

Pretty much. Even if they started dating in HS, that means they are getting on up towards 30 now. That means he's about to tell this girl tonight that 1/3 of her life has been a waste of time and now instead of starting a life with the guy she plans to marry, not to mention she probably plans to be the father of her children, she will be back on the dating scene and starting over from scratch. Furthermore, if they have been dating since HS, this means this girl who is closer to 30 that 20 now has to figure out the whole adult dating scene which to her is something totally foreign to her. This girl is in for a real mind frick tonight.
while true you said they should be married and with kids. i disagree with that completely in general (much less someone before the age of 30).

I bet she has serious muffin top and her legs are weak. Probably doesn't lift. Says she does yoga but really doesn't.
Sure, she can get by banging a bunch of random dudes after a while, but she'll still have to come back to the reality that she's aging and losing her luster.
THEN, she starts working out.

Gf of mine(cute chick) just found out that her "I don't believe in marriage"ex is now engaged to some fat chick

Sucks. I hate it. 10-year relationship. Engaged with no set date; we were discussing June and July next year. She wants to be married and have a baby. I do not want to marry her. This is not panic, I have been thinking about this for a while now. I am telling her tonight. She will be devastated.
Any sincere advice or words of wisdom are appreciated.
1. Overshare
2. Did it take you 10 years to figure out that she wasn't the one, or do you no longer consider yourself the marrying kind.
3. Shitty situation. If you're any kind of man, you'll feel rotten for a while. But you're making the right call. Better than doing it in 5 years with two small kids in the mix.
ETA: From an earlier post. Be as plainly honest as possible without being cruel. Let her call you everything but a child of Jesus and do your best to let her walk away feeling as though she'll be better off. Good luck with that.
Don't bang her.
