I'm curious about the Zulu "black face" thing.

I just finished an article about it. It was written last year.
Is it still a controversy? Are they still doing it or have the indignantly righteous won?
Did I read or hear somewhere that the witefolks in Zulu had to stop with the black face but that the black folks could keep doing it?
Also, wasn't there some prominent white member last year that got in trouble or lost some important post or job for wearing blackface? Because as I understand it, as of last year white folks were still required to put on the makeup.
Any news on all this shite? It's a fascinating social dilemma.

Very much so, aside from the forced statue removals (which most proponents weren’t even from the city) NOLA has never really given a shite about PC culture. Especially if it involves tradition

Are blacks forced to allow so many whites in? Do they have a quota to meet? I read where it's about 5% white. Isn't there some sort of law that if you parade, you have to have a certain percentage of minorities in your organization?

Zulu is in charge. They’re not gonna let a bunch of white SJW have a say in their organization and rightly so. It’s a private club and they make the rules, whatever they decide one way or the other.

I still wear blackface to events like that, but I then cover it with whiteface so nobody is offended. Because that’s ok.

That's only partially true.
Blacks in this organization can do whatever they want. They're immune from the social pressure. The whites however? Well they're not immune at all and zulu can offer them zero protection when they're publicly ostracized and "outed" on social media or wherever else for wearing blackface.
Whether it's sanctioned or not by the blacks of Zulu, in today's social climate (if you're white) dressing in black face is a social and professional killer. Especially if you're involved in business or professional activities outside of this state.
My guess is the whites will soon stop wearing it for fear of being "outed".

Krewe of Comus hasn't paraded since the '90s, because they refused to disclose their members. They went to court and got the law tossed out, but still don't parade.
