In Arkansas, two weeks ago they predicted by today's date that there would be 3,000 confirmed cases in the state. Our number today was around the 830 mark. That tells me nothing about when we might peak but it does tell me predictions aren't facts yet the media believes them to be.

There was some error with their Alabama numbers before today. . .

If those projections are accurate, then that would be a massive massive win for the entire state of Louisiana.
At the same time, I will believe it when I see it. The state is already at almost 500 deaths. That would be a monumental decline in growth to only have 300 more deaths in 4 months.

Yeah, this damn model has been thrown out there by every hysterical sky screamer out there, and was one of the things used to bully Kay Ivey into the stay at home order. Yesterday they were predicting over 5,500 Alabama deaths by May 1. Now it is 900, and that may still be high. Unbelievable. We need to remember this shite when the scientists and modelers tell us we need to wreck our economy to prevent global warming.
Edit: As of this morning there is still an article up at al.com parroting this model to say that Alabama is going to have the highest per capita death rate in the nation. I wonder if they will report on the "revision."

Models change has new information is reported. Alabama's initial model was made prior to most social restrictions and based on extremely limited data. With new data, the model narrows.

Well to use your hurricane cone of impact analogy, they have in one day gone from predicting landfall at t=New Orleans to predicting landfall at Cape May, New Jersey. Just maybe they aren't worth listening to at all.

People don’t do a good enough job of taking precautionary measures.
Yes, there would be a reduction, but this change is a sign that the initial number was overestimated by a lot.
That is just for Alabama though.
Was there a similar reduction of 90% with any other states?

Louisiana models changed for the better but were within the previous range.
It’s like a cone ten days out extended from Houston to Mobile just narrowed down to Lake Charles to Baton Rouge.
