Yep, this was in another thread over the weekend. My local dealerships are now pricing truck at about $2500 under MSRP. Not much of a discount, but in a few months a F150 XLT will be back to $15K off MSRP.

The economy tanking while interest rates staying up will kill new and used car pricing. Which I guess is good if you are unaffected by all the economic woes that we are in now, and will be experiencing going forward.

I need this car in 3 months and it’s not available anywhere. As is I’ll have to fly and get it…drive it back 700 miles. The only reason I’m getting it is because someone backed out on it. Zero available in the whole country.

You are being lied to. you've fallen victim to false scarcity marketing.

Can you imagine waiting a few months to save more than a few bucks?

Not really seeing predictions of how much vehicle prices will drop. My Tundra is still running good and is paid off but getting higher in mileage. I will be getting a 3/4 ton truck next but not buying at today's price. The trucks I've been looking at are $70k today, but hoping they'll drop to $60k or lower in the coming months. No clue if that is realistic or not. I CAN afford a new truck, but don't want to nor do I legitimately NEED a new truck at the moment.

For the record, I work from home as a software developer and stack dimes welding on the weekends as a hobby. Not sure where I land in your manhood hierarchy.

I’ve been to 3 dealerships and searched every zip code in the US at 500 mile increments. These vehicles are sold as soon as a VIN is produced…and they take ‘orders’ with deposits well before that.

Decent deal. THing will run forever though.

I got my 2007 in 2011 as a HS graduation gift. Sport Edition, 63k miles, paid $23k.

Drove it for 9 years and traded it in in 2020 with 165k miles and still got $5k out of it.

I’m actually never buying a new truck because all the trucks newer than mine have that obnoxious seatbelt alarm

I’m a real man I don’t wear a seatbelt

That seems to be a good deal under current markets.

I’ve been noticing some more of the new models on the road that were pretty rare to see all during 2022. Now I’ll see multiples on just one drive.

It was bought at auction through a friend who owns a used car dealership

He said it was a good deal but curious what the good people of the OT thought

I could have walked off a dealership with the vehicle I wanted but in a diff color at a markup. I waited a month and found the one I wanted in the color I wanted for $5k less.

To me that was worth it. Some people will just pay it though.

Lots are starting to fill up with new cars. Used cars are now sitting for a long time! I’ve seen the same ones over and over in lots and online.

I'll tell you what's about to be a good side hustle.

Finding the cars people want at prices they want around the country and delivering them. Gonna be a buyers market if consumers hold the line a bit
