re: If you’re going to camp in the left lane, at least be **actively** passing

I usually have my cruise set on the interstate, on I-10 that means 80. If the guy in front of me is going 1 mph less, I merge left and let nature take it's course. I'm sorry if that takes a minute, but that doesn't mean I need to hammer down just to get past him faster.

I don't think many Altima drivers read this board.

Being mostly in the left lane is okay as long as you’re doing it right, like being aware and getting over if someone is coming up behind and can’t pass on the right or basically just not making cars stack up behind. But many people don’t do it right.

That's fine, but that doesn't change OPs point. You can drive all you want in the left lane without holding up traffic, just be aware of your surroundings.
I drive the speed of traffic in the fast lanes.. if it's 75 or 95.
Slow lanes on Bama interstates are not in good shape.

Nationwide problem. Nothing will initiate an irrational rage in me like left lane fricktards.

Anyone this bent out of shape by traffic aint living right.
Slow down and enjoy your life, baw. You only get 1.

i would rather stab needles in my eye than drive that section of interstate between birmingham and montgomery during the day.
when is it NOT a parking lot?
waze has jumped the shark. you follow their 'alternate' directions and you're just behind the other 5,000 people who also got off at that exit only now you're on backroads with 5,000 people stopping at stop signs and trying to turn left on a country road with constant traffic.

You’re already one of the worst people in the world, but you can save a little grace by adding a few MPH to your speed in an effort to quickly pass vehicles in the right lane. Hell, I’d rather you pass me doing 100 than pass me one MPH over my speed. At least you’re not going to trap me behind a truck.
No shite. this is the worst. I will give extra gas not to leave someone behind a truck

yes it does. complete the pass and go back to 80 in the right lane. FFS

You all are wrong. The left lane is for setting your cruise control to 2mph below the speed limit and then texting on your phone so you don't have to worry about merging traffic or your cruise setting being interrupted.

And then there's the assholes that anticipate a green light turning yellow so they slow down as they approach distant intersections then stop when it turns yellow.
My wife used to do this. Was so terrifying. I thought we were going to get rear ended at every yellow light.
I finally showed her enough YouTube videos of this happening to get the message across.

If you’ve ever seen a steer tire blow on a semi, you would want to get past it and not doodle around. Why spend time in someone’s blind spot? Get past them and move the frick over.
It’s amazing how many people have no idea what’s going on around them when they’re driving. Could be a full squad of emergency vehicles behind them with sirens and lights and it will take them 5 minutes to come to the realization they need to move. And yet I’m the a-hole for trying to get out of the clump of dumbasses.

I-12 on the Northshore to Baton Rouge is the absolute worst with the left lane campers. So frustrating.

I’m looking at you Tennessee.
I spent some time in Alabama and Tennessee a while back and this 100% true. Even in Alabama, if someone's riding in the left lane, they're guaranteed to have Tennessee plates.

If you're 200 feet behind the car ahead of you then you, me, and the next few cars behind us will all sit at the next light because it will turn red before we get there. If you would just take up the space to the next car then alot more of us will make it through the upcoming intersection.
That’s smart city driving. Leave space so when the carjacker comes up you’re able to escape.

If you’re clueless in the left lane, I will eventually get in front of you and brake check the frick out of you.

You’re doing it wrong too. LA law says the left lane is only for overtaking and passing slower moving traffic. Once accomplished, move back to the right lane. You are not legally allowed to remain in the left lane.
