Are you married to a 13 year old
Yeah Baw. She hasn't seen her father in over 20 years and is 13.
You are better than that.

Cut off all support to the boy and take in the kid and mom.
Hopefully he has learned to teach his grandchild the responsibility that he didn't teach his son.
It usually doesn't work.

Give the kid up for adoption Because if you attempt to raise the child it will turn out trashy like the first one. Bad parenting

Probably the problem to begin with supporting adult children. My brother (27) is still spoiled and that's his problem.

Happened to a guy a work. He is now raising his granddaughter and has no idea where the son is.

Cut off my son completely and put the kid up for adoption

One of my former neighbors has a son with 3 or 4 different baby mamas. One of the kids he has nothing to do with. The others he has mixed levels of involvement with. Definitely a textbook terrible father. It bothers my neighbor but the mom has sole custody so there isn’t really anything he can do. His son means well but can’t make a smart decision to save his life.
I think my neighbor realizes at this point that it’s a parenting failure on his part also but he can’t exactly do much about it now that his son is in his mid 20s and lives his own life mostly.

I would explain to my son how his decision makes him a piece of shite. Express my disappointment. Reach out to the mom and remain in Grandchild's life.. Remind son weekly he is acting like a piece of shite until he does the right thing...

My X wife pretty much has abandoned hers, we haven't seen her in a year, have no idea where she is.
She text him randomly but always some shite like "have a good day".
I'm raising him by myself and we do great together but it's pretty F'ed up that a women would have a kid and never offer to see him/pay for anything.

Well I wouldn’t raise an irresponsible shite brain, but if he ever did that, I would kick his arse.

What if said son was in a home of combined families. There were set rules and he followed none of them and the other boys did. The son shot roids in the bathroom while the other boys walked in and needles found in another sons vehicle. It’s not always black and white.

I would disown his arse and do whatever I could for my grandchild.

This is my situation but I have three. My ex decided one day she no longer wanted to be a wife or mother and left. She pays her child support and visits the kids occasionally, but it's just me raising three kids. After the first year I was feeling pretty proud for doing it all by myself. I was looking around for a pat on the back, then realized no one was going to give me a pat on the back for doing the same thing women have been doing throughout eternity?

Focus on my grandchild and if I can, help my son out next.

Your question was"if your son". Nobody assumed you were talking about your father in law.
And the "child" is your adult wife?
That is a completely different situation than your original post, no?
Stay out of it, dude.

Just say good riddance. This was 20 years ago. Some dads can’t take the pressure of the responsibilities and all they want to do is do the things they want, kids are an inconvenience to some.
There is nothing to do here

I’ve never met two of my wife’s three sisters. The one we speak with we are incredibly close with. The other two have nothing to do with any of the family. As my FIL and MIL are getting older I feel bad for them.
