Not quoting my job, but taking far less shite from anyone.
Only telling my wife, atty, CPA, and financial planner.
The kids will be told dad got a big raise at work and mom doesn’t have to work anymore. I’m sure they will eventually figure it out but I’d try to go as long as possible without them knowing so they don’t get f’d up by the money.
If anyone questioned anything outside of that bubble, I’d say we forgot we bought a bunch of bitcoin years ago. We wouldn’t live extravagantly enough for that not to be believable.

I wouldn't quit my job right out but would go into private practice for myself and do pro bono work. I'd tell my fiance and my grandmother (whose bills I would take over to pay myself). I don't know that I'd tell anyone beyond that, as I have some family that would absolutely expect me to hand them money.
First thing though I would hire a lawyer and an accountant. While in Kentucky you can choose to not disclose your name to the media, anyone can file an open records request to get your info. So I'd create a trust or LLC to claim on my behalf to protect my anonymity.
Beyond that, I'd like to create a non-profit shelter here in Louisville for homeless teens. We don't have anything here for homeless teens/runaways that is a safe option.

I'd quit tomorrow.
I wouldn't tell anyone immediately. Once I got my ducks in a row, I'd tell family.

I'd let them know I'm quitting so they can find someone else and make a transition easy. I live in a small town so the news would come out pretty quick. A guy actually won it from here before and everyone knew. If I cleared 10M, my wife and I would both quit. That's enough to live a moderate life and have some investments for the rest of our lives. Anymore is just a bonus.

my job would be pursuing a career as an amateur golfer

Probably get fresh overhauls on the old tractors and the combine that are pre-electronics era and then just keep on farming until the money was all gone. I love the life.

I have a co-worker who talked about this years ago. He said if he won the lottery, he would sit with his feet on his desk. Whenever someone would call and ask for something, his response would be "No...why don't you go F**k yourself". He said he was just curious to see how long it would take them before they escorted him out. His guess was 10 days to 2 weeks.

I would give my notice but take my vacation time and never go back. I would not tell a single soul except my son, and that would be in person, in a private location.

No, I wouldn't quit my job with SI.
It's my duty to put out this free content about student/athletes in Louisiana.
I get paid but it's free to read.

That’s a lot of travel ball bats.

I'm definitely retiring at current age of 40 in that scenario
Probably try to not tell anyone except immediate family. I would stay on 3 months at work so they could find a replacement. Just took 1 whole year to find the guy they just hired. My boss is picky

I’d set up 5/6 friends,my 3 kids, an ex gf , my adopted son and my parents. I’m definitely quitting my job. I’d hire a personal trainer and a personal chef and just travel with friends and family.id be super low key and probably stay in my home. I’d probably build some animal shelters. All that would be very nice.

You give me $2 million tax free right now, I'm straight up walking out this piece and never working again.
