you mean 14yo girls with their iphones in the bicycle basket with Old Towne Road blaring from the speaker.
There will be at least one fatality this summer caused by a kid swerving across the road like a fool

Tell that to the infrastructure guys who force everyone riding a bike to cut across the road to the other side about 500ft from the seaside stop sign.
That is the dumbest thing ever. You can't continue the sidewalk on the same side right where traffic builds?

Was invited down this year by one of those rich dicks buying everything up. Not as impressed as I thought I would be. Just another beach town now. I could see where it could’ve been a quaint little place way back when

Grayton is about the closest you can get to what it use to be.

The legal crossings aren't ideal, tis true, but the majority of accidents are kids being dumb and drivers who aren't experienced with the kids being dumb

As someone said in an earlier post, you guys need to get out of the southeast region more.
I grew up going to Navarre, spent high school & college spring breaks in Ft Walton, and vacationed as a young adult in Destin. The panhandle was great.
But, once a vacation destination or vacation home isn’t relaxing because of crowds or whatever, then time for somewhere new...USVIs, Hawaii, or something similar.
As far as home prices, those prices are insane for what you get...especially considering it’s in a freakin hurricane area. Perfectly content with my place in Park City.

B. The super "rich" are not at 30A.
Don’t kid yourself, there are some wealthy property owners on 30A. Faith Hill and Tim McGraw have a walled “compound” at Alys beach. Jerry Jones has a place on the west end. A realtor pointed out a modest beach house to my wife and I that she said belonged to Elon Musk. Sometimes I think realtors make this up to spur interest.

You want to see wealth? Drive out on Governors Drive on Kiawah Island and you will see gluttonous wealth being spent on mega mansions that are used 4-5x a year.
30A homeowners are probably very wealthy but you don’t understand how wealthy some people really are. Your $6 mill on a home in 30a is pocket change to some of these people.

Ft Walton is a steaming pile of shite.

They use to rent that house. I don’t think they come anymore. If you have ever seen their Bahamas island, you wouldn’t come here either.

Yes, the neighborhood next to Tops’l resort. You can buy one of the last beach front lots for 6 mil. Jerry bought every lot surrounding his house so no one could build next to him.

First time hearing this, but you never know.
There are plenty celebrities who own homes here, but more just visit frequently. Fact is, the majority of the large homes are owned by people you have never heard of. The largest home in Walton county, which has been under construction for over 3 years, is owned by a McDonald’s franchisee.
