8 am

But I also like to place the specifics somewhere in my communications, so no dummy can mess shite up/use vagueness as an excuse

Ex with your wording: "We are moving our 10 am meeting forward 2 hours. See everyone there at (insert date) at 8 am."

As we move forward in time, 10am becomes 11am and 11am becomes noon.

The terminology is up or back. Forward is weird and I’d say means 8 but I’ve never heard anyone say move the meeting forward in my 38 years of employment

forward is piss poor wording to use here but it'd be 8am. My kneejerk reaction was noon, but then I thougth if someone said "we're moving it back 2 hours" taht would 100% be noon, so if back is noon then "forward" has to be 8.

Although a normal speaking person would jsut say "move it up" 2 hours, not forward.

<------>
8 9 10 11 12

Which way does that arrow point, baw? Forward is noon; backward is 8.

And we call those times LATER.

As in Later in the day.

Forward in this context would be earlier.
How is this hard?

Push it back = further from the original time

Push it forward = before the original time

Forward = Noon
Back = 8

IMO. But I don't think I'd use the word forward in this instance.

“No, I’m not ready right now. Let’s push the meeting back a few hours”

I can see how there can be a misunderstanding. If you say the 10 oclock has been moved forward two hours when you think in terms of numbers and you are counting and you count to 10 and told to count forward from there then two forward would be 12...

But in time, if you move somethin forward, it means earlier.. So that would be 8..

Its similar to saying bi-weekly. What does bi-weekly mean? Twice a week or every two weeks?
