If you had to draw on a map where does the "deep south" end/begin?

So what's that leave, the bottom of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, and the entire state of Florida only?

Are you retarded?

The unofficial split of north and south Louisiana is how you define Deep South?

Get out of Louisiana some. See other things

Google "Mason Dixon Line" to see the start

Now, it's considered this map. Miami doesn't count, lol

For deep south, begins at the Tennessee/Kentucky line and ends around I-10 would be more like it.

For me, the "deep south" is fuzzy line below the southern TN and AR state lines. So LA, MS, most of bama, GA, SC, and the northern part of FL. It's not a hard line. For example, Memphis and parts of the AR delta region are deep south in culture. Huntsville seems more mid-south in culture.

Pull up an electoral map.

That should be pretty close.

Historically, the Upper South is south of the Ohio River and below the Mason-Dixon. This includes Tennessee, except near the Mississippi, Kentucky, Virginia, North Carolina, and the upper ends of Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia. It excludes Appalachia.

The Deep South is Mississippi, Alabama, eastern Arkansas, Southeastern Missouri, North Louisiana, South Carolina, and southern Georgia. You could include northeast Texas as well. Demographics shift to a much higher black population.

The Gulf Coast is not part of the Deep South. The economy, culture, and history are very different.

It’s gotta touch the Gulf of Mexico and can’t have a Latino population % in double digits. Then add Georgia.
