I’ve thought about this a lot. The earliest I could manage would be the 1920s. Before that, dental hygiene and medicine becomes pretty medieval. Besides that, I could be in the 80s forever. Just enough modern conveniences without sacrificing our traditional lifestyles.

I bet they’d walk into a room to find their wife with an arse in her cock then not make it out of the 70s.

2010-2020. Catch the last year of college and lsu student section tickets, the fun few years after that making money before settling down, getting married, and then the birth of my kids. Doesn’t get better than that. And it ends before Covid.

I misread the OP. In that case, either decade from 1980- 2000. The world was still awesome, music was still awesome, and smart phones and the internet didn’t exist.

Early 1930s would be my time travel destination.

Twenty-five year old me would enjoy the 50's. Eisenhower was President, rock and roll was starting, the country was prosperous with plenty of post WW2 jobs. Medical care wasn't as sophisticated but I'm 25 so it mostly doesn't matter.

I will admit that the 60's are awful tempting.

Considering the balance between the two, I'd choose the 2000's decade.
Close.

August 1991 through August 2001

Any earlier than that and I'd be frustrated not being able to easily get information or communicate quickly.

No you wouldn’t. I miss how awesome that was. I graduated high school in 2000. The 90s were an amazing time to grow up.

90s. We had modern medicine, fairly equal opportunity for all but before things started to get ugly, and it seemed like the economy just kept getting better. And no social media to give every idiot a voice (like i’m doing now) and to allow people to hyper-criticize each other’s every word and action.

90s if I had to choose a decade, 95-05 if I could choose a 10 year period.

Either way, you get a decent amount of modern tech without the headaches of today.

Everyone likes to shite on technology and the internet, but we had high speed internet and first gen social media with MySpace and aol for years with no issues.

Its really just the current generation of social media that’s extremely problematic and a cancer to society. Technology in general is awesome.

The movie Midnight in Paris talks about this. People who wish they lived in another decade. It’s pretty good. Also, teenage 90s me wished i lived in the 60s. I think we always want the idealized version of something we don’t have.
