Maybe not as dry as Phoenix, but Austin isn’t really humid at all. It’s a semi-dry heat.

Phoenix

Weather is dope for the most part. I'm from the deep south so Heat is not a problem. No grass to cut

Phoenix is also a vibrant enough city with great suburbs if you don't want to live in the city proper. It's beautiful so many outdoor activities and you have LA, San Diego, Vegas at your doorsteps

I dont think you could go wrong with either though

I'd go Phoenix. I've only visited both but Paradise Valley north of Phoenix was super nice

the cultural part okay, but the visual part is flat out wrong. the surrounding areas around Phoenix are beautiful

not to mention it's only a 4 hour drive to

Austin. Phoenix was the first place I sweat from the heat radiating off the concrete even after the sun went down

unrelated, but I actually remember my first time doing this. going back to six flags over texas after swimming (to cool off from all day at the park) at the hotel, as soon as we parked to do night roller coasters we all started sweating. I was in 5th grade

in topic, I love Phoenix. the city itself is ok but the radius surrounding it is amazing. day trips to Sedona, Prescott, the countless monuments/ sight seeing stuff. less than on hour from mountain climbing, camping.

the heat isnt all that bad, really. it isnt like Austin's hippies and traffic cool it down any

I'm in Gilbert. Loved it here for 30 years now. So much to do and see in Arizona. Mountains are fun.

Phx all day for me. I have been to both, and the quality of life in AZ is unparalleled if you like being in the outdoors. Austin is nice, but living TX version of San Francisco, isn’t my cup of tea. Yes, it is hot in PHX late June to Sept, but you are about 90 mins away from the 70’s in Flagstaff..

Phoenix. Ton of professional teams and more to do.

Austin has way too many freaks and horrible traffic.

Austin is freaking hot too. Don’t kid yourself there. You will have a backyard full of cactus if you live in the burbs in Austin.

I suggest you go spend some time in both spots.

Austin is cool but the traffic and the drug addicted homeless are some pretty major knocks.

You should go to Austin and do a test commute from one of those suburbs into where you’ll be working.

I spent a week in Phoenix this October, it was very clean, the traffic seemed manageable, and there is plenty of outdoor stuff to do.

The problem is if you have kids and your family is in Louisiana, it’s a pretty easy car ride back vs. the pain in the arse that is air travel as a family.

Pheonix would put you in a good spot for access to the west coast. Utah, Colorado, etc all in a good driving distance.

You are looking at 8 hour car drive one way to Baton Rouge from Austin. Not really do able for a weekend trip unless you want to kill yourself.

Who wants to waste vacation going to Louisiana when you can explore other places.

Visited Phoenix for a week. The sun sits on top of your baseball cap and stays there until it jumps off at night. Austin in a runaway.
