But don't want to quit your day job to actively manage something full time like a business that requires you to be there...

Stocks? CD's? Real Estate? A business (that can be run without being there day to day)?

What say the OT?

Everybody’s different. Me? I’d pay off the house and put the rest in an IRA.

I’d pay off my house and then reinvest the remainder into kids college funds.

Pay off a little debt I have and invest the rest in a good meme farm.

First, I'd take that special someone out to lunch in New Orleans. And then I'd pay off the remainder of my mortgage and invest the rest in a quality rental property that would be suitable to retire in.

Probably ask the money board, if you need a serious answer that does not involve hookers and blow.

Spend the first $150K on frivolous things immediately...

Invest. Either stocks or rental properties depending on how much time you want to put towards the investment.

I would buy the 20 acres that I have been dreaming about for years.

It’s kinda rolling hill savannah type property with native grasses and live oaks and cedars. It has a 2.5 acre pond. It’s gorgeous.

The last time I approached the owner, he wanted $300k. A bit steep for my desire to also build a house on it.

So I would take the cash and buy the property and then use the remaining cash and the equity in my current home to build a new house.

I would then live my rest of my days debt free on my dream property (within reason dream property).
