Would you do it? Does it matter to you?

Yes I would and yes it matters

Absolutely.
But it’s irresponsible not to have seen their report before marrying someone.

Without hesitation. And yes it's very important.

Paul instructed us to do this in his second letter to the Corinthians.

It matters a lot, but if you're planning to pursue a long term relationship you shouldn't have to sneak around to get the info. Ask.

Its called Credit Karma baw, and if she isn't over 700 there is no ring.

To to be honest I didn't thnk about it at the time.
I knew she had student loan debt but she had good credit.
Sold my old house and paid off her loans.

It absolutely matters...
And not being willing to discuss it is perhaps an even bigger red flag than a poor credit score.

I woukd get a good full background check before getting engaged
Posted on 7/23/18 at 9:54 am to X123F45
It would be foolish not to check it.

I would say it matters. I am 30 and already know SEVERAL people that are divorced. If the ex had $100k in student loan debt and you married her, you now owe $50k of her debt.

It’s written on the ceiling of the sixteenth chapel...or maybe it was the seventeenth

No. Keeping your head in the sand is always a great way to approach life.

Why not sit down together and run each other's credit at the same time? Those with nothing to hide should be all for it, on both sides.

There’s a carfax for people...social media. All the signs are there if you look closely enough

This reminds me of my dumb arse sister in law that filed bankruptcy but does accounting.
