I’d say a town relatively close to a metro area so I can spend some of my $250k/yr when I need some culture or entertainment.

250k is a lot, especially in a small town. I’d want to enjoy ball games, fine dining, etc if I had that income.

Those who said a California coastal town are on to something. Maybe somewhere in Long Island, NY or Martha’s Vineyard also.

It's gotta have good deer hunting and bass fishing....
I would lean towards Many, LA for location.... just what I like to do... not that the town is awesome, but I'd love a big spread on the Bend.
I would also consider South Texas, perhaps Kerrville or somewhere like that.
But my wife would have to be located near some decent shopping and getaway type stuff so I'd really have to think on it more.

easy, bainbridge island, wa.

you get everything you could ask for from a small quaint town, and are a relatively short ferry ride to a major american city (seattle). it's gorgeous, and perfect.
