My pops was born in 1949. His draft story parties don't sound particularly great. If you got to stay home, I'm sure it was an interesting time to grow up.

Betty Draper was dishing out Heineken in like 64

You’d just have to fake your death in Korea

After hearing my dad’s crazy stories about being a teen/young adult in the late 60’s early 70’s, I think I’d like to try being born in the early 50’s/late 40’s to try living that life.

1962.

I’d be old enough to remember the greats and I bet it was awesome to be 18-28 during the 80s with hair metal and glam rock and acid wash jeans and drugs and muscle cars.

Yeah that’s too early for me. The 60s are overrated

The 1930s would probably be my first choice.

But since I was born a few months after the Moon landing, I've always thought that it would've been cool to have been born around 1960 or so.

Plus, the 1970s seemed like a pretty cool decade to be a teenager.

Medieval times so I could see what serfdom was like for my peoples.

Also, to see if it's remotely like the other "Medieval Times" place.

Alternatively, in Nazareth a couple of years after Christ was born.

I’d say somewhere in the 70s. I’d be too old once the social media age came to be and at a point of giving less of a frick now.

My dad was born in '48. When I was failing out of LSU, he told me to get my shite together because when he was my age failing out of school meant getting sent to 'Nam. After college, he enlisted because he had a low draft number but ended up a Cold Warrior in Germany. I think he enlisted because as a married man it somehow helped keep him out of 'Nam. Not sure how that worked. There was a marriage exemption up until '65. He served his 3 year tour and that was that.

It seems strange now that there was ever a college deferment or a draft that lasted decades. I regret never having served but I think it's better now that the ones who do serve want to be there and aren't forced into it.

Not too far because I think I underestimate how much I’d miss some of the creature comforts of today. Maybe 77-78. Bout 10 years older. Old enough to do college and my 20s before Facebook and smartphones took off. Also would have gotten to enjoy and appreciate 90s LSU baseball a little more.

Not sure “when” I would go to.

If, however it is before the invention of air conditioning I’d be moving north.

Late 1800s or early 1900s. Hopefully avoid going to WW1 then live it up in New York during the roaring 20s while I’m in my 20s. Save up some gold so I don’t get hit as hard in the 30s. There were some evil governments around the world but I think the first half of the 20th century was an exciting time to be alive. I would also try to compile firsthand accounts of World War vets.

Born in 64 it was a great time to be born for the reasons you stated, only downside was always the possibility of being the wrong age if the Cold War went hot,

Go back to early 1600 America. I would find the owner of the Anericas slave trading Company and give him a glimpse into the future. Maybe we save a bunch of lives and slaves never end up in America.

I would love to go back an visit all of the major periods and nations in history. I wouldn’t want to be born and live in any of them.
