But they will be pulling oil out of this well for the next 20 years Minimum.

I have not been impressed by any of the company men I have seen at the meetings or their speeches. Most come off as young dudes who knew someone to get their jobs.

But XOM will be there for a while. Every subcontractor and XOM has been cutting benefits across the board for their employees. Eventually they want to run off all the americans and use the cheap slave labor from the south american companies.

I work in the used...car market. Prices have significantly increased 20% and their is a shortage of trade ins.

Im currently working in South America in the Oil patch. There area a lot of commpanies out here.

The money aint what it use to be and companies are cutting more and more during each down turn. Im not making much either, I made more money on land. Even after all the overtime If I told you guys what I made a day, you would laugh.

Our hitches are getting longer and our compensation is getting shorter. Plus your getting taxed/fee ed more on top of everything.
Im lucky to bounce back into this field after multiple layoffs and stagnation in my old previous industry.

Im working on getting all my S*** paid for so I can say F. to this money grubbing company I am working for. The People you meet are cool, but most of the mfers out here are pirates, they will backstab you in a second to make themselves look better or to make a
"example"

Im happy to be working again, but my main objective is to get all my S**t paid for. I think I will look for an "emerging" industry instead of all the TOP BOOMER heavy traditional compaines. I should be working and some of these Gerry-at-ric 70-80 yeard old MFERS should be retired. But they cant stay home with there wives. Or there million dollar 401k isnt big enough yet. Or having a pension and social security just isnt enough. I get it they made it there they dont want to leave. But F**k.

FYI, the South American Oil Patch just hit a huge well, bigger than the Saudis, its going to get crazy over here, but we arent getting a penny more. Pretty soon they will phase us out with contractors as soon as they can. You can bank on it.
Every industry I have been in, that is the model, lets get 3rd world S*** heads to underpay them so we can "Maintain" profits.

Companies hire these 3rd worlders with sub 60 Iqs, and you know well that IF...s***t hits the fan, do not count on any of these "3rd worlders" to safely address any situtation at hand. They just dont have the it mentally. They can hardly manage to clean a room.

So if you can, get out, but make a plan. Im looking into how to transition back eventually.
