I do too, but the mindset is destroying us.

I hate shopping in general. If I can wait 2 days for shipping then Amazon it is. If i must have it now, then I consider local if the price is close. Needless to say my house sponsors a lot of salaries at UPS, FEDEX, USPS, and more recently the Prime delivery guys.

If it's an identical shoe/clothing item and it's cheaper on amazon. Tty on at the brick and mortar. Purchase from amazon.

No offense, but how badly do you need the item if you don’t even think about it for weeks?

Went to a shoe store and found some shoes I liked. $119. Googled them and found them online for $59 with free shipping. Asked the store if they wanted to match and they laughed. I bought them on my phone in the store and walked out. Local stores think they are some great privilege.

A local men’s clothing shop has them for $315, but you can get them on Amazon Prime for $290.

Do you buy local, or order on Amazon?

Depends, is the local store going to sweeten the deal with a handy? Then it's a toss up.

yes because being a prime member, I will usually receive the order before I can get my lazy arse out to pick it up locally.

I live in Baton Rouge. So, I’m generally willing to pay more for Amazon just to avoid driving.

25 dollars is a big difference. If it is a couple of bucks I’ll always buy local. I like going out and doing things though. I Try to buy from amazon as little as possible if things are comparable.

I order a lot of small stuff on Amazon. If I need a few pair of grey socks I'm not making a trip to the store, which may or may not have what I'm looking for, just for this.

I just ordered a dozen dish towels on Amazon. I only had 3 here and don't like doing loads of laundry for the sake of a few towels.

Wasn't something urgent or worth my time to go to the store for

Whichever one costs less.

Probably Amazon even if it costs a little more. Time is money.

Dude, I buy TOILET PAPER from Amazon. Local stores don't have a chance because I don't have to deal with locals at Amazon.

Yes. My wife and daughter have ordered beauty products that clearly were not the actual advertised brand. That became even more evident when they tried to return them and Amazon said contact the seller, and the seller didn't respond to any emails.

That's interesting. This is actually the first time I have heard of someone else having the same experience (a certain product from Amazon not being the same quality).

I'll give you a local example:

local hardware store sells my refrigerator water filters for $80.

Amazon has the same filter in a pack of 2 for $49.

Who do you think I buy from?

Restaurants, I’m gonna local over chain/national, most other items I’m using amazon (or other online shops) for convenience.

ETA: Coffee shops, I typically go local too.

Boots specifically I would buy local even for a bit more. I want to try them on, feel then, etc.

Other stuff Amazon wins. With their warehouse in Dallas there is a lot of stuff I get same day or less.

Try them on at the local store, order them off Amazon and get them 2, maybe 3 days later for cheaper.

Hell, yeah. Before I buy things in stores I always check Amazon. If the difference in price is substantial, I walk out and order online.

I always buy local unless I can't find something.
