When squatting, or deadlifting, I always approach from the right side of the bar. I don't know why. I'll pace from left to right until it's time to lift, but right before the lift, I always walk in from the right side. I don't even know when it started, but I can first recall doing it 20 years ago.

Like you, I notice weird shite too, but not quite at that level. Mine is more focused on making judgements about the risk people may represent to me.

At times, I count things. Most commonly, stairs or windows. If it's a prime number, I lose, otherwise I win.

There are 34 separate windows that make up the stained glass behind the alter in my church. I count that as a draw, because its an even number- and split in two its a prime.

So I've got that going for me...

Definitely some unusual stuff up in here. I'm beginning to think some of y'all are just making this stuff up

I see a few that I’m quite sure are made up.

I can tell you that a vast majority of these are not, as I do quite a bit of them myself. The counting syllables or words in certain sentences and lyrics is a big one for me. Counting stairs and other patterned things like lines on a rug. Maintaining couch cushions so they remain symmetrical at all times. Tracing and outlining certain things, looking for symmetry by counting this or that aspect of it.

I add a string of numbers like an address 1327… 1+3+2+7=13. Add 1+3=4. Anything that totals out at 6 is not good

Pertaining to language, I have a tendency to use my fingers to count syllables in a sentence or a song lyric, and I repeat the count until I get an even five or ten at the finish.

I do too, but I always do the syllables count to ten.

That’s the one I posted, so I know it’s real.

They all very well may be real, but I saw a few that were questionable.

I live in a golf cart community, and I count the carts I encounter on the way to and from whatever course I am playing. I usually go by brand, but I will do gas and electric from time to time. It is really busy this time of year with the snowbirds in town. Yesterday, I encountered just over 200 carts on a 40 minute drive with 142 being Yamaha gas-powered. Evolution easily leads the electric-powered cart count.

I count things, usually some type of repetitive motion like walking up stairs or the number of seconds it takes to do something, and I don't even realize I'm counting until the numbers in my head get into the thirties.

The gas pump should ideally end in in $.00, but increments of .05's can be acceptable.

Slightly crooked pictures must be straightened, even if it isn't my home.

I translate most shite in my head into Arabic. If I don’t remember the exact word, I work around it.

Make things out of license plates... try to make it relevant to the vehicle or driver.

Make my kids do it, too.

I have a few idiosyncrasies, but I have one similar to this that comes to mind immediately.

Whenever I'm behind a vehicle that has a license plate like C323212, I'll do the math to subtract the second 3 numbers from the first 3 numbers. So 323-212=101.

The other one that comes to mind is that I count/eat M&Ms in pairs when I'm eating a bag. Almost always comes out as an odd number for a small bag. Usually around 53, IIRC.

Both were developed as a way to keep myself awake/entertained when I used to drive a lot for work.

Not diagnosed with the tism or OCD, but I think we all have a touch of it. Lol.
