Spray the doors handles with pepper spray. They will put their hands to their face at one point while driving.

I like this idea. Rub down the handled with jalapenos. Will take time for them to figure it out.

Messing with another person's car is a total bitch move. It's just cowardly, plus it's criminal.

I've had this problem before and it isn't an easy fix. It sounds like you are in a super huge complex and there are visitors that don't see or understand the parking rules. Or maybe there is limited parking. I still don't get how many spaces you have or need. I guess you don't use the garage, so you have 3 spaces? How many cars do you have?

different cars everytime, thats largely part of the issue, if it was one dude I could just man to man talk with him but its been a few cars

That does present a problem. For all you know it could be some other resident's one-night stand, never to be there again.

"Encouraging" management to get a towing contract is probably the best solution. If they won't do that then you can block off the area with something. I suggest some cinderblocks, they're cheap (if they get stolen) and easy to move.

Put some poo on the hood of the car. No one likes to park in the poo spot.

Leave a note on the car:
I pay for this parking spot. Next time you park here it will be towed.

And if they park there, tow that bitch

Leave a typed note on their car saying the next time they park in those spots - They will be towed. Sign it: Thanks, Name of Complex Management ETA: Scan a copy of the complex logo for added validity. Easy to drop in using Word or whatnot.

Trust me if I knew who they were I would confront them, but we show up and there is a car in our spot with nobody there to confront, and there are countless apartments around and we have knocked on doors and nobody wants to own up to it.

Go to a sign shop and pay to have a new bigger sign made. Make it say whatever you want. But- make sure it says YOU WILL BE TOWED. YES, THAT MEANS YOU!'!!!

Can the number on the "violators will be towed, please contact _____ if towed number and say "This is Akjwjheb (mumble) from the _____ apartment complex. I've got an illegally parked ____, license plate _____ in spot _____" and hang up... They'll be there with a quickness.

That's if you want to be a dick. I had to do it in DC all the time... After the same car realized I wasn't going to do shite, I had to do shite.

The first sentence in the OP says "we have two assigned spots and a spot in front of our garage,". That means he has three.

OP, get the cell number of your apt. manager. Call him/her every time someone parks in your spot. You are paying rent on spots you are unable to use. You pay the managers company. It is their responsibility to make it right. Document each contact. Enough contact will get him/her off of their lazy asses.

If no action is taken I would tie their vehicle to my truck and tow it out of my spot. I would leave it in the middle of the road. I think your valid concerns have been ignored long enough. Whining has gotten no attention. Action will.

I can't stress enough how important it is that you document each attempt/contact you made requesting that the appt management do their job. Specific dates/times and who you spoke to are a must.

Then if nothing happens, take this to the parent company or owners of the complex. I can guarantee you that they will not be happy to hear about how the on site management is not doing what they are paying them to do.

As with any issue like this, always take your grievances up to the next level if the lower level isn't doing their job.

Just get a chain and hook up to their car and drag it out of your spot.

I'd withhold a portion of rent till the property management deals with it. I mean, I assume you're paying for those parking spots and if you can't use them, it's much like a broken furnace, water heater, etc that they refuse to fix.

It's probably repeat offenders. Also it should be noted that do other tenants get their assigned spots is this just a free for all or are you the only one getting screwed. If the former I think you are fricked. One way to handle it is sit outside your place. Drink a few. Smoke a couple. Maybe busts out the grill. Wait for these summbitches. Then pounce. And by this time you should be half way to a buzz. So things will get good quick. Then report back.

Get a free sofa from Craigslist and block their car in it. Or something low that they won't see and will run it over. If they mad just tell them you were trying to get it in your house.

Get a Valve Stem Removal Tool and take the air out of their tires. When they go to leave and notice they have a flat go talk to them.

Send the apartment complex a certified letter setting forth your complaints, especially that you are paying for something that the apartment complex is not delivering, i.e. reserved parking spaces. Are the parking spots included in your lease? If so, you may have even more leverage.

A certified letter scares the shite out of people because it usually signals that a lawsuit is coming next.
