So if someone parks in front of your garage, hypothetically, you can't park in either? WTH wouldn't you call the cops?

Are the spots you are assigned side by side? If so....double park one of your cars in both spots and just move car for other car when needed.

Yes they are side by side and we have done that, but its still annoying to have to shift cars around when other people come home just because you have to double park to save spots that are supposed to be reserved in the first place

Based on what you're saying, the beef here is with the apartment complex management. They have the authority to call for the tow. They don't need a contract with a tow company to tow a vehicle. It's their property and they have marked signs stating not to park there. That's where you need to go with this as they're in breach of your contract. Yep. If they aren't gonna enforce the signs they post I would just tell management that I will park wherever I want since they don't seem to be too concerned about those parking in my spots.

I doubt you could. It's interesting to see what the law says. On one hand, it's your property that you've leased but on the other hand, the apartment complex owns it. I'd call the police non-emergency line and get a local cop down to you to get a clear answer.

you are right, well we have been in contact with the management about the situation and he is all talk and no action, saying he will find out who is taking our spots and promises signs and more warnings, but nothing comes of it. So yes confronting the people is the best method, but like I said its different people all the time, so its hard to manhunt all these assholes taking our spot. just seeing what I could do personally.

If management isn't gonna help out you can post negative reviews about that complex regarding that issue on apt review websites. Won't solve your problem but might make you feel less frustrated over it.

Is the parking covered? Are there posts in between each spot? If so can you maybe run a chain across both spots that you lock?

I had a similar problem with someone parking on the street blocking my driveway and I couldn't get my car out to go to work. I had to get someone to give me a ride but I let the air out of two of his tires before I left.
