I wonder how many people in Louisiana were cussing the sky when they tried to get on Pornhub this week?

My question would be why hasn’t this tech been used to find the killer of Allie Rice? I don’t care if you had to contact every cell user within a 5 mile radius that night.

The answer might not be so black or white. But then again, it might be.

What kind of IQ do you have to have to get an idea a rose would look good there and then do it?

It's basically pinging cell phone towers and drawing a pattern between the towers. They just take the cell phone number and see where it pinged at certain times.

I'm sure they've done it for persons of interest in the LSU student murder case.

Duh. You think they used CIA assets on a murder suspect? No.

I’m even more concerned with genealogical DNA being used to track suspects. I understand it’s helpful, but it’s still an invasion of privacy I’m not comfortable with.

It won't hide the part of your phone location pinging off of towers, but in todays world, if you aren't using a VPN on all devices, you're just a bumbling idiot

Because they don't care. As long as they're making money, why would they?

Banks work hand in hand with cartels and all sorts of grey to black money. They're in on it.

I love how everyone was like "why haven't they caught the killer yet!" "It's been way too long. They should have caught him by now. What are they doing!!??"
Then all of a sudden they catch him using cell records/pings and everyone is crying foul. You just can't win anymore

Slippery slope. Also, people keeping assuming that these pings were outside the front door or on the Idaho kids street. It’s just a rough area of triangulation of the towers. In the affidavit it says he was pinged at a crossroads 1.7 miles away. That’s a big arse area with a hell of a lot of people.

You don’t think that is probable cause? The guy was all over the murder scene and his car popping up in the area during key moments. They had plenty on him as a suspect at that point.

How is it not probable cause to have him pulled over?
