In the 1st stop he took his ID but didn't check for outstanding warrants. That's not typical at all.

Yet they thought something was up????

The trooper just confirmed to himself and the FBI that he's talking to Bryan Kohberger.

There is an article out last night that states that the FBI did ask Indiana police to stop the car so the FBI could get video footage of his hands.

This is also on this morning's network news.

What are the world's 3 fastest animals?

1. A chicken flying out of Ethiopia.
2. A vegan, running to tell you they are a vegan.
3. A cross fitter, running to tell you they are a cross fitter.

The guys that stopped them knew something was up with Kohberger but at first believed it was drug trafficking. I kind of understand why people put FBI on a pedestal but they absolutely lean on local agencies a lot more than they are willing to admit.

So they guys that stopped him were good enough to know he was engaged (or had recently engaged) in criminal activity just based on the way he was driving, but they were not good enough to pick up on some very obvious clues after the stop to even warrant running his license?

Do apple watches video?
Do you think the officer is videoing the inside of the car and Bryan’s body/arms and hands? The officer keeps his wrist still on the window the entire time.

I went to Broadcastify and listened to the Hancock county and ISP dispatch for the time period covering the stops. found it interesting there was no reference to pulling over the Elantra.

This is interesting. I’m guessing a good lawyer could challenge this video evidence should it ever be presented in court. If they pulled him over solely to video tape his hands and lied about a traffic violation (they never even bothered to run his license) it could be argued that the search was illegal or at the very least it’s inadmissible. Doesn’t really matter though. Since they have him in custody, they can take all kinds of pics of his hands.

Just because the FBI asked them to pull them over doesn't mean that there wasn't probable cause, likely in multiple ways, to justify the stop.

I thought about this. Both cops stated a reason for the stop so good luck getting that tossed. But what do I know....

Definitely not typical of LE but do they have to do this to make it a lawful stop?

The traffic cop who pulled them over said he was following a big rig "too closely". It was just a ruse to get see his hands IMO

Might very well have been, but it was also a legal one.

Body Cam video of his hands in plain sight is not a “search.” If they searched his car from this stop and found the murder weapon, then I’d agree with you. But I don’t see how body cam footage alone constitutes a search.

The database is forever. Your family genome is now stored in perpetuity. You and your immediate family can be long dead and gone but if your great grandchild does something stupid years from now, your dumbass brother and his dna sample with be what catches and convicts him.
