St. Paul's and (of course) De LaSalle are run by the Brothers of the Christian Schools, founded by St. Jean Baptiste de La Salle.

Unpossible…I was led to believe that the local cops were incompetent fools because they didn’t let the internet sleuths know the inner workings of this case as it unfolded so that their pet hypothesis could be validated!
Well to be fair they asked for help from the community. They got 12,000 tips on the Elantra.
So… what’s the problem here? They did need and have help.

So the cartel had nothing to do with it

Criminal justice PhD guy probably had been studying how to pull off the perfect murder for awhile and damn near almost did it if not for the police cam catching his getaway car
The crime scene was supposedly very gory and he used a knife. He wasn’t trying to pull the perfect murder, there was a lot more to it. It wouldn’t be that hard to walk into a house with a suppressed .22 with a mask, hoodie, and glasses on and murder college students. This had a lot more to it.

You typed a whole lotta words to be wrong. Stopped reading at ditched the white Elantra. That was a different car. The Elantra that belonged to him was towed from his parents house.
Edited: just read your full post. Holy shite that’s a word salad. How many people interviewed said it’s probably not his first kill or crime of passion or crime of opportunity or knew them or didn’t know them. Throwing shite against the wall and see if it sticks.

FWIW, the Salesian order likely has the fewest blemishes on their record than any other Catholic order.
I wouldn’t say they have the fewest blemishes

Bundy also bit one of his Chi O victims and the bite mark was what got him convicted.

It really isn't that hard to see how the cops caught him. The cops have way more information than what the public has. They said the crime scene was messy so you'd have to assume the killers DNA would be left behind. Then the white elantra thing came out. Cops pull up all the white elentras in a tri state to start. Create a hierarchy of the owners. Move everyone 60 and older to the back. Everyone owned a female to the back. Narrow down the 20-45 male owners. Cross reference their names with anyone that follows any of the 4 students on social media. This guy fits the bill. Check to see if his DNA was at the scene and it was.
Seriously, everything you said sounds conceivable. I never would have thought to do that !
I am not sure how much the push for more info on the car was truly about getting more local video as they had 2 videos of a white car from close to the start - the police cam in field between house and fraternity row and a security video from another house close to Taylor & Linda which is also close to field that was given to police within a day or 2. The person thought she picked up the car along with the earlier car that dropped them off from food truck, and to her credit she wouldn’t share it with news.
The investigation might have already filtered down similar cars registered in area and/or for parking on campuses before their push for more videos from local area and really needed push in media to the larger area covering students that were now home for winter break. This could have been to get more info but also to put pressure on person to feel less comfortable trying to dump it or burn it without now creating suspicion. Wonder if that’s why the police made a concerted effort to point out that the FBI were ones dealing with the tips. I thought at the time it was due to a decreasing public and family confidence in investigation, but after today’s arrest with a similar car towed away it seems like it might have had different reasoning.

I think the push for getting more video was to get a plate. That would shorten the time of finding the owner and save a lot of hours filtering through all owners. Once the cops announced they were looking for this car then the guy knew it was fricked. Being in PA was just to spend his last few free days with his parents ala Bryan Laundrie.

I'm curious how they had his DNA profile to know it was him.
Did he voluntarily give it up via a 23 and me kit?

There could be a few different ways: prior arrest, genealogy services (23andMe), maybe he gave some for a study at the school. FBI was watching him the past four days, so they could have pulled it from something over that time.

You do know that there are many other ways to get someone’s DNA other than having it on file. Evidence has been obtained in the past by going through a garbage can.

prior arrest,
Do they get your DNA for an arrest? Serious crimes I imagine they do. Idk, I'm a good boy.

How fast can they process someone's DNA?
I wonder how long they've known about the guy.

Remind me again how the white Elantra became tied to the murders?
