What makes no sense to me is the girl with the dog. Why would she lock up her dog in her room but sleep with her roommate in another room?

I remember being a college girl and we would after a night out all pile in a bed together so we could talk and laugh until we fell asleep but why wasn't the dog with them?

Can't help but think had that dog been in the same room with those 2 girls they would be alive. Killer would have run from the dog. Damn.

There have been a few reports of family and friends saying the dog wasn’t very aggressive. It’s not for sure known if Kaylee meant to sleep there or was even sleeping there versus coming into room and getting murdered.

Its also been unclear if she had started to move out and not there as often, but originally she wasn’t supposed to be there that night and drove back to show Madison the car she just bought. I guess she brought dog back versus leaving it at the college house while she was with family and looking at cars. After being by itself while everyone out that night the dog might have still been a little hyper and shut in room to not run off if people they knew came and left during the night (or food delivery). It may have just been a temporary solution for Kaylee going to use Madison’s phone to call ex before she fell asleep accidentally or before checking on noise right before murders.

My best guess is that he was done and killed who he intended to kill and was either satisfied or exhausted or something like that but clearly didn't see her as a threat.

If he had a mask he might have thought she wouldn't be able to give a useful description and he was better off hightailing it out of there than trying to make sure the house was clear.

His DNA was on the button of the sheath. That's in the affidavit

The sheath had USMC on it. He wasn’t a service member. I think he left it behind on purpose in an effort to throw the police off. Dumbass thought he had every bit of it sterilized, but forgot about the button.

Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.” - Nietzsche

I’ve followed this from day one, but I have spent most of my day inside this maniac’s mind and at the crime scene in my mind’s eye. It’s put me in a lousy mood. Going to eat something and watch a little Seinfeld, and let go of this horror for the night.
Peace out.

Did they have vegans 30 years ago?

Just a few, but most got eaten by the Bulimics.

Don't worry, they were back in aboot a half hour.

Thirty years ago, there was no touch DNA, and a kid telling his parents to get new pots and pans to serve him out of would have been met with a steely stare, then ignored.

First time I heard this but it makes sense given his post murder crazy conduct calling podcasts and posting on Reddit and FB. Thought he was smarter than he actually was.

Further proof he is an idiot. He went through the hassle of getting new plates and new drivers license and paying 3% tax difference from PA when he didn't have to.

Not sure if he was smart enough to think this, but the car caught on cameras had no front plate. Pennsylvania doesn't require it. Maybe he thought he'd throw off authorities if the car on camera had only rear, and now the car he's driving around has front and back.

No. The USMC Ka-Bar is a very popular knife. The dumbarse just left the sheath behind, thank God he did.

He was stupid enough to get pulled over twice in a very short period of time.

And for some UNKNOWN reason he gives an officer his phone #.

There was no helping him.

Could be but there would paperwork leaving a trail so he would end up on a list as a suspect anyway.

We have found out the police did an excellent job of gathering info.

As soon as he took cell phone with him on those 12 previous trips and used his personal vehicle to commit the crimes he already screwed up.

As I said, there was no helping him. He was a blooming idiot.

The biggest ticket item missing is why were these girls targeted

I think if you look at his interest and the focus of his Phd studies, this guy probably had an unhealthy obsession with committing the perfect crime. With the relatively short amount of time he was in Idaho and the evidence showing his cell phone pinging in the area in months prior to the killing it, it seems reasonable to think he was hunting his prey not long after his move to the area. It really does make you wonder if he chose a school 1700 miles away from home because he thought he could disappear back to Pennsylvania after committing a murder.

30 years ago, these people wouldn't have even been murdered.
Kohberger learned of the girls through Instagram, etc. that weren't around 30 years ago.
More than likely, if Kohberger was around 30 years ago and committed the same crime, he more than likely would have killed someone closer to him, such as fellow classmates at WSU.
Thus, he still may have been tracked down.

I wonder if his parents knew he had it, or if it was a recent purchase. Brick and mortar is running aboot $120, and online is $90. Online takes a credit card, which I am guessing he had in his wallet when arrested. I hope he ordered it online, last August, leaving a massive paper trail back to his dumb arse.

Didn’t he just start the PhD program in June? So he had at least 2 years left and likely longer.

I really don’t think he was planning this crime well. I think it was more emotional. There are way way too many issues that he would have known to not do. For example, he was wearing vans and in regular clothes with a Covid type of mask. Any criminology major would have known he should have worn clothes that better hid his dna and shoes that hid his footprints better.

The only answers are he is really dumb or emotion took over.

Had he studied (or reditted) a murderer who said that murder in one state but live in one near by leads to lack of efficient communication between adjacent police jurisdictions?
